Sigurd Magnussøn
Sigurd Konrad Magnussøn (December 14, 1889 – November 12, 1961) was a Norwegian theater director and actor. On August 14, 1912 he married the actress Abigael Heber. Magnussøn was a student at the Fahlstrøm Theater from 1906 to 1907. From 1908 to 1911 and from 1912 to 1920 he was an actor at the National Theater in Oslo. Then he was at the National Theater in Bergen from 1921 to 1922. In 1921 and 1922 he also directed the experimental Intimteatret theater, where Agnes Mowinckel debuted as a stage director and Olafr Havrevold debuted as an actor. From 1922 to 1931 he was engaged at Chat Noir, the Trondheim National Theater, the Casino Theater in Oslo, and the Oslo New Theater. From 1931 to 1935 he was at the Norwegian Theater. His last theater was the National Theater in Oslo. Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien. Skien is also the capital of Vestfold og Telemark county. ''Gjest Baardsen'' is a Norwegian film from 1939 directed by Tancred Ibsen. Alfred Maurstad played the title role. The film is based on the life of the outlaw Gjest Baardsen, but it is a blend of fact and fiction. The plot is taken from a chapbook published by Holger Sinding under the pseudonym Halle Sira. The film was shot at the Fuhr farm in Luster, at Turtagrø in the Sogn Mountains, and at Videseter in the Stryn Mountains. The film was screened in the United States with English subtitles in the 1940s. Plot The film is set in a time of famine. Norway has been at war with England and Sweden, and times are difficult. One day he sees Trine while he is out on a sales tour. He buys her two lottery tickets. This is the beginning of a contact that later deepens into a love affair. The film was directed by Rasmus Breistein and Titus Vibe-Müller. Plot The city boy Rolf Rønne arrives at Benningstad, a large farm in Hedemark, and gets to work. He meets Jørgen Krullerstugun and lies that he has found gold at Kråkberget, which is on Hans Benningstad's property. Jørgen makes his own investigations at Kråkberget and finds mica and mistakes it for gold. At night, he brings home large quantities of the stone and fills his living room and bedrooms.
