Sharp PC-1211
The Sharp PC-1211 is the first pocket computer ever released, marketed by Sharp Corporation in March 1980. The computer was powered by two 4-bit computing, 4-bit CPUs laid out in power-saving CMOS circuitry. One acted as the main CPU, the other dealt with the input/output and display interface. Users could write computer programs in BASIC. The TRS-80 Micro Computer System (TRS-80, later renamed the Model I to distinguish it from successors) is a desktop microcomputer developed by American company Tandy Corporation and sold through their Radio Shack stores. The Sharp pocket computer character sets are a number of 8-bit character sets used by various Sharp pocket computers and calculators in the 1980s and mid 1990s. Character sets PC-12xx and PC-14xx series The Sharp PC-14xx series (like the Sharp PC-1403 (1986), PC-1403H or PC-1475) uses an 8-bit extended ASCII character set. With minor exceptions the lower half resembles the 7-bit ASCII character set. Realistic (brand)
Realistic was a private label consumer electronics brand produced by RadioShack. Initially only a home audio equipment brand, its product line expanded to include CB radios, walkie-talkies, and video camcorders by the 1980s. The brand was discontinued in 1994, but revived for a short time in 2016 for use on Bluetooth devices sold by the chain. The Tandy Pocket Computer or TRS-80 Pocket Computer is a line of pocket computers sold by Tandy Corporation under the Tandy or Radio Shack TRS-80 brands. Although named after the TRS-80 line of computers, they were not compatible with any TRS-80 desktop computer and did not use the Z80 CPU. Sharp PC-5000
The Sharp PC-5000 was a pioneering laptop computer, announced by Sharp Corporation of Japan in November 1983. It employed a clamshell design in which the display closes over the keyboard, like the earlier GRiD Compass and contemporary Gavilan SC. The PC-5000 was largely IBM PC-compatible, with the same 4.77-MHz Intel 8088 processor as the IBM PC, and ran MS-DOS 2.0 (in ROM).
