Sharif Uddin Chaklader
Sharif Uddin Chaklader is a retired judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Career Chaklader was the assistant attorney general of Bangladesh in 1991. Chaklader was one of 19 judges who filed a petition with the Bangladesh Supreme Court against a High Court Division verdict which ordered the government to reappoint 10 High Court judges whose appointment was not confirmed by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In October 2008, bombs were left at Chaklader's residence at the Judges' Complex on Park Avenue in Kakrail. Barrister Rafique-ul Huq condemned the presence of a major at the Bangladesh Supreme Court deciding the cause list of the court violating policy at a discussion organized by the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association protesting the discovery of bombs at Chaklader's residence. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (), popularly abbreviated as BNP (), is a major List of political parties in Bangladesh, political party in Bangladesh. Kakrail
Kakrail () is a neighbourhood in Dhaka. It is under Ramna Thana and falls under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation. Over time, Kakrail has grown into a mostly residential area, with apartment plots and schools, but subsequently, several NGOs and government offices have been set up there. Etymology Historian Muntassir Mamoon theorized that Kakrail may be named after a British commissioner to Dacca, Cockerell. The name "Kakrail" could be a Bengali corruption of his name. History As Dhaka expanded after the 1947 Partition of Bengal, Kakrail became a residential colony. Rafique Ul Huq
Rafique Ul Huq (2 November 193524 October 2020) was a Bangladeshi lawyer who served as the Attorney General of Bangladesh in 1990. Background and education Huq was born in Calcutta on 2 November 1935 to Nurjahan Begun and Momin Ul Huq. He earned his MA and LLB degrees from Calcutta University in 1957 and 1958 respectively. He became a Barrister-at-Law in 1961 and called to the Lincoln's Inn in 1962. Career Huq enrolled as an advocate in Calcutta High Court in 1960. He joined the High Court at Dhaka in 1962 and enrolled as an advocate in Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1965. In 1975, he joined as a senior advocate in Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He served as the Attorney General of Bangladesh from 7 April 1990 until 17 December the same year. Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Forum () is a forum of lawyers aligned with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Surendra Kumar Sinha (born 1 February 1951), commonly known as SK Sinha is a Bangladeshi lawyer and jurist who served as the 21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh. He resigned from the position in November 2017 amid the 16th amendment verdict controversy. Early life and education He completed bachelor in economics from Chittagong University.
