Shanta Das Manandhar
Shanta Das Manandhar (; 1934 – 14 November 2023) was a Nepalese pioneer of children's literature. He published more than 24 children's books. Two of the books were published in English in 1958–1959, one of them titled ''Some Essays''. He also translated English fairy tales into Nepali. Manandhar was born in Jhochen, Kathmandu and educated in JP school, and completed the Bachelor level. He worked as a teacher in Santi Bidyagriha of Lainchaur and worked as a principal in Bal Sewa Bidhyashram for eight years. Though he suffered from two heart attacks, he remained active in writing for various newspapers for children's columns. Shanta Das Manandhar died at Vayodha Hospital in Kathmandu, on 14 November 2023, at the age of 89. Kingdom Of Nepal
The Kingdom of Nepal ( ne, नेपाल अधिराज्य), also known as the Gorkha Empire ( ne, गोरखा अधिराज्य) or Asal Hindustan ( ne, असल हिन्दुस्तान)(), was a Hindu kingdom in South Asia, formed in 1768, by the unification of Nepal. Founded by King Prithvi Narayan Shah, a Gorkha monarch who claimed to be of Khas Thakuri origin, it existed for 240 years until the abolition of the Nepalese monarchy in 2008. During this period, Nepal was formally under the rule of the Shah dynasty, which exercised varying degrees of power during the kingdom's existence. Jagadamba Shree Puraskar () is an award given for contribution to Nepali Language, Literature, Art and Folk Culture Field. It is awarded to a person or an organization who has contributed in the field of Nepali language, literature, art or folk culture fields. It is presented alongside Madan Puraskar by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya, on the day of Ghatasthapana; the first day of Dashain festival. Children's literature or juvenile literature includes stories, books, magazines, and poems that are created for children. Modern children's literature is classified in two different ways: genre or the intended age of the reader.
