Sexpot Comedy
Sexpot Comedy is a comedy collective, producing or sponsoring nine podcasts and more than a dozen weekly or monthly live events in Denver, Colorado. It is run by partners Kayvan Soorena Tyler Khalatbari-Limaki (Kayvan Khalatbari), a local entrepreneur, and Andy Juett, a local comedian and producer. History In July 2012, Khalatbari combined two of his existing businesses—Sexy Pizza, a Denver-based pizza chain, and Denver Relief, one of Colorado's oldest marijuana dispensaries—to create a comedy showcase called Sexpot Comedy. Staged in one of Sexy Pizza's three locations, these invite-only stand-up shows allowed Denver Relief's medical marijuana patients to smoke while watching sets from some of Denver's comedians. Shortly after the launch, Juett joined on as a producing partner of Sexpot. Great American Beer Festival
The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is an annual beer festival hosted by the Brewers Association, held in Denver, Colorado. Typically held in late September or early October, the event is currently held at Denver's Colorado Convention Center. Established in 1982, it is the largest ticketed beer festival in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world. History The GABF was founded by brewer Charlie Papazian, and the first festival was held in conjunction with the American Homebrewers Association's annual conference in Boulder, Colorado in June 1982, featuring 24 participating breweries and 47 beers. In a private event held the week prior, judges evaluate the beers in the associated competition, and award medals in over 100 beer style categories. High Plains Comedy Festival
High Plains Comedy Festival is a comedy festival held each August in Denver, Colorado. It was founded in 2013 by Denver comedian/writer Adam Cayton-Holland and comedian/producer Andy Juett. The festival features a mix of local and national comics in venues throughout Denver's Baker neighborhood. Starting in 2016, Juett parted ways with the festival and Karen Wachtel became executive producer. As of 2019, the production team includes Cayton-Holland, Wachtel, Jessi Whitten, Ron Doyle, Carlos Madrid, and Will Hancock. 2013 High Plains was established in 2013 as Denver's first all stand-up comedy festival and ran August 23-24, 2013. Illegal Pete's is a Colorado-based group of quick-service, fast-casual "Mission Style" burrito restaurants that takes inspiration from burritos popularized in San Francisco in the 1960s and 1970s. Hampton Yount (, rhyming with "blunt"; born June 14, 1984) is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor, known for ''Mystery Science Theater 3000.'' Yount was born in Warrenton, Virginia, to Renee and Victor Yount. Hampton has three siblings, Virginia, Henri and Clay, whom he has talked about on his podcast, Y'all Ever.
