Sevil Gaziyeva
Sevil Hamzat gizi Gaziyeva (, June 1, 1940 — September 23, 1963) was the first female mechanizator in the Azerbaijan SSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR. Biography Sevil Gaziyeva was born on June 1, 1940, in Aşağı Tala village of Zagatala District. After graduating from high school in 1958, Sevil applied to the Azerbaijan Medical Institute, but was not accepted. In the same year, she submitted her documents to Vocational School No. 5 in Baku. In December 1959, Sevil read an article in the newspaper. After reading an article about Uzbek girl Tursunoy Akhunova, Sevil decided to become a mechanic. In the summer of 1960, Sevil and her friends were sent to the cotton farm No. 5 in Beylagan District. During the production experiment, Sevil harvests 97 tons of cotton by machine. The Medal "For Labour Valour" () was a civilian labour award of the Soviet Union bestowed to especially deserving workers to recognise and honour dedicated and valorous labour or significant contributions in the fields of science, culture or the manufacturing industry. It was established on December 27, 1938, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Munavvar Rzayeva (, 6 June 1929 – 6 June 2004) was an Azerbaijani sculptor and the first monumental female sculptor, Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic. Biography Munavvar Rzayeva was born on 6 June 1929 in Shusha. She grew up in the family of a carpet master, Majid, in Shusha. In 1950 Rzayeva graduated from Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzade in Baku, and in 1956 from the Faculty of Sculpture of the Moscow State Academy of Arts named after Vasily Surikov, V.I.Surikov.
