Zagatala District
Zagatala District (; ; ) is one of the 66 Administrative divisions of Azerbaijan, districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the north of the country and belongs to the Shaki-Zagatala Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Balakan District, Balakan, Qakh District, Qakh, as well as the Kakheti region of Georgia (country), Georgia and the Russian Republic of Dagestan. Its capital and largest city is Zaqatala (city), Zagatala. As of 2020, the district had a population of 129,800. Sevil Gaziyeva
Sevil Hamzat gizi Gaziyeva (, June 1, 1940 — September 23, 1963) was the first female mechanizator in the Azerbaijan SSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR. Biography Sevil Gaziyeva was born on June 1, 1940, in Aşağı Tala village of Zagatala District. After graduating from high school in 1958, Sevil applied to the Azerbaijan Medical Institute, but was not accepted. In the same year, she submitted her documents to Vocational School No. 5 in Baku. In December 1959, Sevil read an article in the newspaper. After reading an article about Uzbek girl Tursunoy Akhunova, Sevil decided to become a mechanic. In the summer of 1960, Sevil and her friends were sent to the cotton farm No. 5 in Beylagan District. During the production experiment, Sevil harvests 97 tons of cotton by machine. Hero Of Socialist Labor
The Hero of Socialist Labour () was an honorific title in the Soviet Union and other Warsaw Pact countries from 1938 to 1991. It represented the highest degree of distinction in the USSR and was awarded for exceptional achievements in Soviet industry and culture. It provided a similar status to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, which was awarded for heroic deeds, but differed in that it was not awarded to foreign citizens. Gurban Gurbanov
Gurban Osman oghlu Gurbanov (; born 13 April 1972) is an Azerbaijani football manager and former player who manages Qarabag. He played as a forward. Starting out with local club Kur in 1988, Gurbanov had a decorated 18-year career. He scored 178 goals in 399 league matches. With 14 goals in 68 matches, he is also the Azerbaijan national team's all-time leading goalscorer in international matches. From 2017 to 2018 he was the manager of the Azerbaijan national team. Gurbanov has won a total of 21 trophies, five as a player and 16 as a manager.
