Sergey Mishin
Sergey Nikolayevich Mishin (; born 11 August 1958 in Kaluga, USSR) is a Soviet and Russian sportsmen, the first in the USSR honored master of sport of Kettlebell lifting. Biography Born into a working-class family. He lives in the city of Kaluga. Sport became engaged in 25 years. At the professional level, he played from 1983 to 2006, from 2005 to 2008 head coach of Russian national teams. Kettlebell Sport lifting (russian: гиревой спорт, ''girevoy sport'', GS) a.k.a. Girya is a repetitive weight lifting sport performed with kettlebells in a given period of time. Competitive kettlebell lifting has a long history in Russia and Eastern Europe, but developed as an organised, standard sport under the name kettlebell lifting during the 1960s. Lifts The sport consists of three main lifts: the snatch, jerk and the long cycle. Jerk and Long Cycle can be performed with one bell or two kettlebells of equal weight. *Snatch: A single kettlebell is swung using one hand from between the knees to above the head in a single motion. *Jerk: Two kettlebells are grasped in each hand and swung to the 'rack position' at chest level, then jerked above the head. The Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR (russian: Спартакиада народов СССР, Spartakiada narodov SSSR) was a mass multi-sport event in the Soviet Union which lasted from 1956–1991. The competition was a descendant of the international Spartakiads, named after the classical escaped slave leader Spartacus. The USSR Spartakiad comprised two separate quadrennial competitions: the Summer Spartakiad and the Winter Spartakiad. The competitions were conducted between the constituent Republics of the Soviet Union. In 1952 the Soviet Union decided to join the Olympic movement, and international Spartakiads ceased. However the term continued to exist for internal sports events in the Soviet Union of different levels, from local up to the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR. The Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" (russian: Орден «За заслуги перед Отечеством», ''Orden "Za zaslugi pered Otechestvom"'') is a state decoration of the Russian Federation. It was instituted on 2 March 1994 by Presidential Decree 442. Until the re-establishment of the Order of St. Andrew in 1998, it was the highest order of the Russian Federation.
