Sergei Shutov
Sergei Alekseyevich Shutov (also spelled Sergey; Russian: ''Сергей Алексеевич Шутов'', born 1955) is a Russian artist active in painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and audio- and video installations. He lives and works in Moscow. He was born in Potsdam, then East Germany. He is a member of numerous arts organizations in Russia, including the Hermitage Association and the Mayakovsky Friends' club. Since 1993 he has served as president of the Institute of Technology of Art, and since 1994 he has been the Practical Work Supervisor at Moscow Arts Laboratory New Media. He has worked in the Pushkin Museum, the Museum of the East, and the Moscow Zoo, and read lectures at the Moscow Planetarium. He has worked as a radio DJ (for Stantsiya 106.8) and was the first VJ in Russia, an artist for the magazine Ptyuch, and an actor and artist for the film ''Assa''. The Shutov Assembly
''The Shutov Assembly'' is the thirteenth solo studio album by British musician Brian Eno, released on 10 November 1992 on Warner. One of Eno's ambient albums, it was reissued in 2014 with a second disc with bonus tracks. Overview The album is dedicated to Russian artist Sergei Shutov, and was created as an assembly of tracks for him, as he had mentioned to Eno the difficulty he had of getting Eno's music in the then-communist Russia. Brian Eno
Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (; born Brian Peter George Eno, 15 May 1948) is a British musician, composer, record producer and visual artist best known for his contributions to ambient music and work in rock, pop and electronica. A self-described "non-musician", Eno has helped introduce unconventional concepts and approaches to contemporary music. He has been described as one of popular music's most influential and innovative figures. Born in Suffolk, Eno studied painting and experimental music at the art school of Ipswich Civic College in the mid 1960s, and then at Winchester School of Art. Timur Novikov
Timur Petrovich Novikov (September 24, 1958, Leningrad – May 23, 2002, St. Petersburg) was a Russian visual artist, designer, art theorist, philosopher, and musician. He is considered one of the most influential proponents of Nonconformist Art before and after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Life and work As he grew up in the Soviet Union, Novikov experienced its cultural and political constraints. His artistic education began at the age of seven at the House of Pioneers in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), and later at the Young Art Historians Club at the Russian Museum in the same city. In 1977 he became a member of the Letopis (Chronicles) art group; and in 1982 he founded the Новый художник (New Artists) movement. During the 1980s Novikov worked at the Russian Museum and enjoyed access to its collection and archive, as well as close working relationships with its curators. ''Assa'' (''Асса'') is a 1987 Soviet crime film directed and co-written by Sergei Solovyov. It became a cult film,Nikonova, Valeria"Russia on Screen: The 10 Best Russian Films" mainly due to the fact that it was one of the films that brought Russian rock music from the underground into the mainstream. Solovyov made a sequel to the film twenty years later, ''2-ASSA-2''. A video jockey (abbreviated VJ or sometimes veejay) is an announcer or host who introduces music videos and live performances on commercial music television channels such as MTV, VH1, MuchMusic and Channel V.
