Sembawang West Single Member Constituency (SMC) is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) for the Parliament of Singapore. Located in the North Region, Singapore, it was established in 2025 after being split from Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC). The current Member of Parliament (MP) is Poh Li San from the People's Action Party (PAP). History Sembawang West SMC was established for the 2025 general election by carving out the majority of the Sembawang West ward of Sembawang GRC, in order to reduce the number of voters in the GRC. At the time of establishment, there were 24,153 registered voters within the SMC. The North Region (, zh, 北區) of Singapore is one of the five regions in the city-state. The region is the second largest region in terms of land area, and has a population of 582,330. The People's Action Party (PAP) is a major Conservatism, conservative political party in Singapore and is the governing contemporary political party represented in the Parliament of Singapore, followed by the opposition Workers' Party of Singapore, Workers' Party (WP). Poh Li San
Poh Li San ( zh, s=傅丽珊, p=Fù Lìshān; born 19 November 1975) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sembawang West SMC since 2025, and previously the Sembawang West division of Sembawang GRC between 2020 and 2025. A recipient of the Singapore Armed Forces Merit Scholarship (Women), Poh was a helicopter pilot in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the first female aide-de-camp to President S. R. 2025 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on 3 May 2025 to elect all Member of parliament, members of the Parliament of Singapore across Constituencies of Singapore, 33 constituencies. Chee Soon Juan
Chee Soon Juan (born 20 July 1962) is a Singaporean politician, activist, and former lecturer who was appointed Secretary-General of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) in 1993. Prior to entering politics in 1992, Chee was a lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He was invited by Chiam See Tong to join the SDP, and was a member of the SDP's team that stood in the 1992 Marine Parade by-election. Chee subsequently succeeded Chiam as the party's secretary-general after Chiam, whom Chee and the rest of the party's leadership have had a number of disagreements with, left the party. Bukit Batok Single Member Constituency (SMC) is a single member constituency in Bukit Batok of Singapore. It used to exist from 1972 to 1988 as Bukit Batok Constituency and was renamed as Bukit Batok Single Member Constituency as part of Singapore's political reforms. Jurong () is a major geographical region located at the south-westernmost point of the West Region of Singapore. Although mostly vaguely defined, the region's extent roughly covers the planning areas of Jurong East, Jurong West, Boon Lay, and Pioneer, along with Jurong Island in the Western Islands cluster and the southernmost portions of the Western Water Catchment.
