Selling Out
"Selling out", or "sold out" in the past tense, is a common expression for the compromising of a person's integrity, morality, authenticity, or principles by forgoing the long-term benefits of the collective or group in exchange for personal gain, such as money or power. In terms of music or art, selling out is associated with attempts to tailor material to a mainstream or commercial audience. For example, a musician who alters their material to encompass a wider audience, and in turn generates greater revenue, may be labeled by fans who pre-date the change as a "sellout". "Sellout" also refers to someone who gives up, or disregards someone or something for some other thing or person. In Sports In sports franchises, a "sellout" is a person or group claiming to adhere to the ideology of putting the collective interests of the team, franchise or fans above their own individual accomplishments or financial gain, only to follow these claims up with actions contradicting them, su ... The Who Sell Out
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of the archaic p ... Dia Psalma
Dia Psalma was a self-described punk/folk rock/metal fusion band, from Strängnäs, Sweden. It was formed by former members of Strebers that started in 1985 (and played as Sixguns for a while). Dia Psalma was formed shortly after Johnny, drummer and main lyrics writer in Strebers was killed in a car crash. After his death in 1992 Ulke (guitar and vocals) and Ztikkan (bass) recorded a final Strebers album called ''Till En Vän'' (To A Friend) with Solbjörn (a drum machine). The same year the band went on tour with Stipen as drummer after Solbjörn (according to legend) got a new job as a jazz musician in the USA. After the tour they decided to create the band Dia Psalma. Before disappearing in 1997 they released three albums and seven singles. On January 17, 2006, it was stated that Dia Psalma would be reunited. They released a compilation CD, with all their earlier songs on, called "Psamlade Psalmer" ((p)Collected Hymns). In the fall of 2007 they released a new studio alb ...
