Dia Psalma
Dia Psalma was a self-described punk/folk rock/metal fusion band, from Strängnäs, Sweden. It was formed by former members of Strebers that started in 1985 (and played as Sixguns for a while). Dia Psalma was formed shortly after Johnny, drummer and main lyrics writer in Strebers was killed in a car crash. After his death in 1992 Ulke (guitar and vocals) and Ztikkan (bass) recorded a final Strebers album called ''Till En Vän'' (To A Friend) with Solbjörn (a drum machine). Strängnäs
Strängnäs is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Strängnäs Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 15,363 inhabitants in 2020. It is located by Lake Mälaren and is the episcopal see of the Diocese of Strängnäs, one of the thirteen dioceses of the Church of Sweden. Psamlade Psalmer
''Psamlade Psalmer'' is a compilation album by Swedish punk band Dia Psalma. It was released in 2006 after it was announced that the band would reunite and play together for the first time since 1996. The double CD with 23 songs on each includes all the songs they've recorded. The name "Psamlade Psalmer" is a play with their band name. "Samlade Psalmer" is Swedish meaning "Collected Psalms", and the extra P in "Psamlade" is to play with the two words. Direct translation therefore is "Pcollected Psalms". The majority of the songs are in Swedish, but the collection also includes "We Love You" (English version of "Vi älskar dig"), "Trash Future Dance", "World", "Rock You", and covers of "Love Gun" (Kiss) and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Metallica). Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, based on sales data from IFPI Sverige. It was formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and has been known by its current name since October 2007. Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Folk Rock
Folk rock is a fusion genre of rock music with heavy influences from pop, English and American folk music. It arose in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s. In the U.S., folk rock emerged from the folk music revival. Performers such as Bob Dylan and the Byrds—several of whose members had earlier played in folk ensembles—attempted to blend the sounds of rock with their pre-existing folk repertoire, adopting the use of electric instrumentation and drums in a way previously discouraged in the U.S. folk community. Strebers
Strebers was one of the most influential punk bands from Sweden, formed in Strängnäs in 1985. Songs were conceived by drummer Johnny Rydh, who whistled melodies to guitarist Mikael "Ulke" Johansson. Johansson then in turn translated the harmonies to electric guitar. His distinctive guitar sound played a major role in Strebers' songs, which were a mix of punk rock and Swedish folk music, while Rydh wrote most of the lyrics. Rydh's death Following Rydh's death in a car crash in 1992, the remaining members disbanded Strebers, as they felt they could not continue under the old name without Rydh. Johansson and bassist Blomberg then formed Dia Psalma together with new drummer Stipen, formerly of Merciless.
