Selayang
Selayang is a town in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. Location Selayang is located on the main route to Rawang through Jalan Ipoh, and this route is connected to Jalan Kuching as main Rawang-Kuala Lumpur route. It is also an optional getaway to Damansara by passing Kepong via Kepong-Selayang Highway, which is a neighbouring town to the southwest. A route connecting Selayang and Gombak in the east is Jalan Batu Caves, which is annually closed during the Thaipusam celebration. Local government The federal constituency represented in the Dewan Rakyat is Selayang (federal constituency). Selayang Municipal Council Stadium ( Malay: Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang) is a multi-purpose stadium in Selayang, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. Rawang, Selangor
Rawang is a town and a mukim in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia, about 23 km northwest of city centre Kuala Lumpur. History Early history Rawang was founded in the early 19th century and was one of Kuala Lumpur earliest satellite towns. During the initial tin mining growth of Kuala Lumpur, many tin mines were explored and opened north of Kuala Lumpur, starting initially at the Ulu Kelang area and gradually moving northwards past Selayang and towards Rawang. APMC's Rawang's cement plant was the nation's first and oldest cement plant had taken over from the tin mine dredges in the 1950s when they moved onward to Batang Berjuntai. The unused open-cast tin mines made way for the limestone quarry in 1976. The earliest estimates of Rawang's founding date back to 1825. Jalan Batu Caves (Selangor state route B22) is a major road in Klang Valley region, Selangor, Malaysia. The road connects Selayang in the west to Gombak in the east, passing by Batu Caves. Jalan Ipoh is a major road in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The road is named after the city of Ipoh in Perak. Its English name is called ''Ipoh Road''.
