Scott Murray (rugby Union)
Scott Murray (born 15 January 1976) is a former rugby union player who played lock for Scotland. He was at one time the record caps holder for Scotland having represented them on 87 occasions, five of which as captain and playing at three World Cups. He also toured with the British & Irish Lions and won Scotland player of the season three times. He is the former head coach of the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). Club career Murray is a former Scottish school basketball international who attended Morgan Academy and Preston Lodge High School. He represented Scotland at every youth level and has played for Preston Lodge RFC and Edinburgh Academicals before moving to England to help Bedford win the Allied Dunbar Premiership Division Two (now the RFU Championship) in 1998 and gain entrance to the English Premiership. Scott Murray is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played one game for the Penrith Panthers in 1992. Murray made his only first-grade appearance for Penrith in the club's round nine loss to North Sydney on 31 May 1992. Scott George Murray (born 26 May 1974) is a Scottish former professional footballer. A goalscoring winger, he is best known for playing in over 400 competitive first team games for Bristol City. At Bristol City he made the end of season Football League Second Division Team of the Year in 3 consecutive seasons. In the last of they 3 seasons he won the 2003 Football League Trophy final. He is a Bristol City Hall of Fame inductee. He also played for Fraserburgh, Aston Villa, Reading, Cheltenham Town, Yeovil Town and Bath City. He is now Bristol City kitman.
