German Surname

Emil Schürer
Emil Schürer (2 May 184420 April 1910) was a German Protestant theologian known mainly for his study of the history of the Jews around the time of Jesus' ministry. Biography Schürer was born in Augsburg. After studying at the universities of Erlangen, Berlin and Heidelberg from 1862 to 1866, he became in 1873 professor ''extraordinarius'' at Leipzig. Later on, he served as professor ''ordinarius'' at the universities of Giessen (from 1878), Kiel (from 1890) and Göttingen (from 1895 to 1910). In 1876 he founded and edited th''Theologische Literaturzeitung'' which he edited with Adolf von Harnack from 1881 to 1910. He died after a long illness in 1910 in Göttingen. Erna Schürer (born 18 August 1942) is an Italian actress, model and television hostess, sometimes credited as Erna Scheurer or Erna Schuler. Life and career Born in Naples as Emma Costantino, Schürer moved to Milan where began a career as glamour model, posing among others for ''Vogue'' and ''Harper's Bazaar'', and debuted on stage in the Giorgio Strehler's Piccolo Teatro. After some secondary roles, she had her first main role in Alberto Cavallone's ''Le salamandre'', and, thanks to the success of the film, she obtained a contract with Alberto Grimaldi, for whom she starred in numerous genre films between 1969 and 1977. Ewald Schurer
Ewald Schurer (15 April 1954 – 2 December 2017) was a German politician for the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Social Democratic Party (SPD). At the time of death, he had been serving in the Bundestag since 2005. He had previously served in the Bundestag from 1998 to 2002. He was elected to the local council of Ebersberg, Bavaria in 1984. A Roman Catholic, Schurer was married with four children. He ran unsuccessfully in Erding – Ebersberg in 2009 German federal election, 2009, 2013 German federal election, 2013 and 2017 German federal election, 2017. Fedde Schurer (, ; 25 July 1898 – 19 March 1968) was a Dutch schoolteacher, journalist, language, language activist and politician,Klaes Dykstra and Bouke Oldenhof, ''Lyts Hânboek fan de Fryske Literatuer'', Leeuwarden (Afûk), 1997, p. 92 and one of the most influential poets in the West Frisian language of the 20th century. Through self-education in the evenings he studied to become a schoolteacher, and in 1919, he was appointed in that position to the local Christian elementary school in Lemmer. Gerhard Schürer
Gerhard Schürer (14 April 1921 – 22 December 2010) was a leading politician in East Germany. Between 1963 and 1989 he was a member of the powerful Central Committee of the country's ruling SED (party). He also served, between 1965 and 1989, as chairman of the State Planning Commission of East Germany's Council of Ministers. It is one mark of his importance that during the 1980s Schürer lived with his family at House 7 in the Wandlitz residential estate. Wandlitz was the exclusive Berlin enclave where the top party officials lived. House 7 was a large house, with space to accommodate his (at this stage) second wife and seven children. Kevin Schürer (born 22 June 1957) is a British historian, genealogist and statistician, previously Pro-Vice Chancellor of Research and Enterprise, who teaches at the University of Leicester. He specialises in the historical demography, the history of the family and migration in nineteenth-century England and Wales.
