Scamp (comics)
Scamp is a canine Disney comics character, the son of Lady and Tramp, all of whom appear in the 1955 animated film ''Lady and the Tramp''. In the final scene of the film, the dogs have a litter of puppies, including three girl pups who look like Lady, and a mischievous, restless boy pup who resembles Tramp. The puppies are unnamed in the film and only appear in one scene, but the little boy puppy made an impression, and King Features Syndicate launched a comic strip a few months after the film's release. Scamp's comic strip ran for more than 30 years, from October 31, 1955 to June 25, 1988. He first appeared in a comic book in Dell Comics' ''Four Color'' #703 (May 1956); this turned into a regular comic book series which reached issue #16 (Dec 1960). Mike Royer
Michael W. Royer (; born June 28, 1941) is an American comics artist and inker, best known for his work with pencilers Russ Manning and Jack Kirby. In later life Royer became a freelance product designer and character artist for The Walt Disney Company. Biography Early life and career Mike Royer was born on June 28, 1941, in Lebanon, Oregon. Jack Bradbury
John Morin "Jack" Bradbury (December 27, 1914 – May 15, 2004) was an American animator and comic book artist. Bradbury began working for Disney at age 20 and was responsible for key scenes in films like ''Pinocchio'', ''Fantasia'' and ''Bambi''. After working briefly for Friz Freleng at Warner Bros., he began working for Western Publishing in 1947, illustrating Little Golden Books, other children's books, and comic books for the Dell Comics and Gold Key Comics imprints along with the Disney Studio Program. Reportedly, Walt Disney told Western that they didn't need his approval for any of Bradbury's work. Robert P. Gregory (October 20, 1921 – December 5, 2003) was an American comics artist and writer best known for writing and drawing hundreds of Gold Key comics starring the Disney comics character Donald Duck. Biography Bob Gregory attended the Otis Art Institute and fought in World War II before working as a technical illustrator for an aircraft manufacturer. He began submitting art sketches to Western Publishing, for which he began freelancing on a steady basis in 1958 — first as a writer, then as a writer-artist both writer and artist — on many of Western's talking animal comics, including the Donald Duck comics produced under license by Dell and Western's Gold Key Comics.
