Saúl Enrique Mancía
Saúl Enrique Mancía (born 1983 or 1984) is a Salvadoran politician and communications specialist who has served as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly from the department of Chalatenango since 2021. He serves as a member of the agriculture commission and the public works, transportation, and housing commission. Mancía is a member of Nuevas Ideas. Early life Saúl Enrique Mancía was born in 1983 or 1984. Mancía graduated from the University of El Salvador in 2014 as a Bachelor of Journalism. Mancía and José Raúl Hernández Maldonado published a joint thesis regarding the 2012–2014 Salvadoran gang truce on 26 August 2014. The Legislative Assembly () is the legislative branch of the government of El Salvador. History The organization was founded in 1824 as the Central American Congress (). Structure The Salvadoran legislature is a unicameral body. Until 2024, it was made up of 84 deputies, all of whom are elected by direct popular vote according to open-list proportional representation to serve three-year terms and are eligible for immediate re-election. Of these, 64 were elected in 14 multi-seat constituencies, corresponding to the country's 14 departments, which return between 3 and 16 deputies each. The National Coalition Party (, PCN) is a nationalist political party in El Salvador. Until 2011 it was known as the National Conciliation Party (, PCN). It was the most powerful political party in the country during the 1960s and 1970s, and was closely associated with the Salvadoran military. Legislative elections were held in El Salvador in February and March 2024.
