Monochamus
''Monochamus'' is a genus of longhorn beetles found throughout the world. They are commonly known as sawyer beetles or sawyers, as their larvae bore into dead or dying trees, especially conifersTheFreeDictionary.com, The Free Dictionary (TFD) (2008)Genus Monochamus Retrieved 23 March 2009. such as pines. They are the type genus of the Monochamini, a tribe (biology), tribe in the huge long-horned beetle subfamily Lamiinae, but typically included in the Lamiini today. If sawyer beetles infect freshly cut pine logs, they can cause a 30–40% loss in value due to the tunnels their larvae bore. It is important to process logs within a few weeks of cutting or store them in water to minimize damage. Some species are known to transport phoretic ''Bursaphelenchus'' nematodes, including ''Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, B. xylophilus'' which causes pine wilt disease.Kansas State University Extension Horticulture (KSU-EH) (2005)Pine Wilt. The show centers on fourth grader Arnold Shortman, who lives with his grandparents in an inner-city tenement in the fictional city of Hillwood. Bartlett created the pilot episode in his living room in 1994 and official production began in 1995. The animators ...

Heathers
''Heathers'' is a 1988 American teen dark comedy crime film written by Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann, in both of their respective film debuts. The film stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, Kim Walker, and Penelope Milford. Its plot portrays four teenage girls—three of whom are named Heather—in a clique at an Ohio high school, one of whose lives is disrupted by the arrival of a misanthrope intent on murdering the popular students and staging their deaths as suicides. Waters wrote ''Heathers'' as a spec script and originally wanted Stanley Kubrick to direct the film, out of admiration for Kubrick's own black comedy film '' Dr. Strangelove''. Waters intended the film to contrast the optimistic teen movies of the era, particularly those written by John Hughes, by presenting a cynical depiction of high school imbued with dark satire. Filmed in Los Angeles from February to March of 1988, ''Heathers'' premiered in Milan, Ita ...
