Santos Laciar
Santos Benigno Laciar (born January 31, 1959), known familiarly as Santos Laciar and nicknamed Falucho, is an Argentine who was boxing's world flyweight and super flyweight champion. Biography Laciar was born in Huinca Renancó, in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. Laciar began his career in his hometown, on December 3 of 1976, knocking out Carlos Maliene in four rounds. After three more wins, all by knockout, he was faced with Alejandro Holguin, who held him to a ten-round draw, becoming the first boxer to face Laciar and not come out on the losing end. After three more wins, he drew once again, this time against Jose Ibiris, but in his next fight, he was able to take the Córdoba State Flyweight title away from Carlos Reyes Sosa in Villa María with a 12-round decision. The World Boxing Association (WBA), formerly known as the National Boxing Association (NBA), is an international professional boxing organization based in Panama. The WBA awards its world championship title at the professional level. Founded in the United States in 1921 by 13 state representatives as the NBA, it is the oldest major organization regulating fights. Marsala (, ; ) is an Italian comune located in the Province of Trapani in the westernmost part of Sicily. Ramon Antonio Nery (born August 10, 1961, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic) is a Dominican former professional boxer, who was once ranked in the top ten in the world among Flyweight boxers by the World Boxing Association, and who once fought for the WBA's world Flyweight championship. At a regional level, Nery was the Dominican Republic's national Flyweight champion. Nery was born with deafness, and his boxing nickname was "sordito", which means "(little) deaf (person)" in Spanish. Betulio Segundo González (born October 24, 1949) is a former boxer from Venezuela, who is considered a national hero in Venezuela. He is considered by many to be Venezuela's greatest world champion in boxing history. Juan Herrera (boxer)
Juan Herrera (born 12 January 1958) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1976 to 1988. He held the WBA flyweight title from 1981 to 1982. Professional career In September 1979, Herrera won the Yucatán State flyweight title by stopping veteran Marco Antonio Benitez in the tenth round. WBA flyweight title On September 26, 1981, Herrera won the WBA flyweight title by upsetting Panamanian Luis Ibarra via an eleventh round T.K.O. in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. Luis Ibarra (boxer)
Luis Ibarra Castillo (born February 23, 1953) is a former Panamanian boxer who won the World Boxing Association flyweight championship. He was born in Colón, Panama. Pro career Nicknamed "El Naja", Ibarra turned professional in 1975 and won the WBA flyweight title in 1979 when he won a decision over Betulio González. He lost the belt in his first defense when he was knocked out by Tae-Shik Kim in the 2nd round in 1980. He recaptured the WBA flyweight title with a decision win over Santos Laciar in 1981. He again lost the belt in his first defense to Juan Herrera by TKO. He retired the following year, and had a brief and unsuccessful comeback in 1989.
