Betulio González
Betulio Segundo González (born October 24, 1949) is a former boxer from Venezuela, who is considered a national hero in Venezuela. He is considered by many to be Venezuela's greatest world champion in boxing history. A combatant of 92 bouts, he fought until eleven months before he turned forty, the mandatory age for professional fighters to retire in Venezuela. Professional career A native of Maracaibo, Zulia State he made his professional boxing debut on April 24, 1968, knocking out Elio Monzat in the third round at Gonzalez's hometown. Gonzalez won his first ten fights, including his Caracas debut, on November 25 of that same year, with a ten-round decision over Evencio Bruguillos. On August 1, 1969, his winning streak came to a halt, when he was held to a ten-round draw (tie), by Juan José Brizuela in Caracas. Jesús Enrique Lossada is a municipality in the metropolitan area of Maracaibo, Venezuela's second largest city. Jesús Enrique Lossada covers an area of and recorded a population of 118,756 in the 2011 Venezuelan census. Venice Borkhorsor (born April 6, 1950 in Nakhon Phanom) is a boxer from Thailand. Boxing career Borkhorsor was a warrior with a strong punch. He won 49 of 57 bouts and scored 36 knockouts. During his career, he won the WBC Flyweight Championship of the World, his first and most prestigious title, the OPBF Bantamweight Championship, the Bantamweight Championship of Thailand and the Flyweight Championship of Thailand. Juan Herrera (born 12 January 1958) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1976 to 1988. He held the WBA flyweight title from 1981 to 1982. Professional career In September 1979, Herrera won the Yucatán State flyweight title by stopping veteran Marco Antonio Benitez in the tenth round. WBA flyweight title On September 26, 1981, Herrera won the WBA flyweight title by upsetting Panamanian Luis Ibarra via an eleventh round T.K.O. in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. Peter Mathebula
Peter Mathebula (3 July 1952 – 18 January 2020) was a South African professional boxer who held the WBA flyweight title from 1980 to 1981. Biography After he began his professional career in 1971, Mathebula became South African flyweight champion in 1978 and bantamweight champion in 1979. In 1980 Mathebula would go on to make history by becoming the first black South African to win a world title after his victory over Kim Tae-shik. Luis Ibarra Castillo (born February 23, 1953) is a former Panamanian boxer who won the World Boxing Association flyweight championship. He was born in Colón, Panama. Pro career Nicknamed "El Naja", Ibarra turned professional in 1975 and won the WBA flyweight title in 1979 when he won a decision over Betulio González. He lost the belt in his first defense when he was knocked out by Tae-Shik Kim in the 2nd round in 1980. He recaptured the WBA flyweight title with a decision win over Santos Laciar in 1981. Shoji Oguma (大熊 正二 born July 22, 1951) is a Japanese former professional boxer who held the WBC and Lineal titles in the Flyweight division. Professional career Oguma turned pro in 1970 and in 1974 won the WBC Flyweight Title by winning a split decision over Betulio González. He lost the title three months later in his first defense against Miguel Canto. In 1976, Oguma challenged WBA Flyweight champion Alfonso Lopez but lost a majority decision.
