Santiago Salcedo
Santiago Gabriel Salcedo González (born 6 September 1981), nicknamed Sasá, is a Paraguayan association football player currently playing for Sol de América in Primera División Paraguaya. Salcedo is the maximum goal scorer in the history of the Primera División Paraguaya, and Paraguayan football with 152 goals, ahead of Hernan Rodrigo Lopez (127), Juan Eduardo Samudio (119) and Fredy Bareiro (112). Salcedo ranked number 10 in a list of the most expensive players in Paraguayan football for 2015 published by ''Diario Extra''. Career Salcedo was the top scorer of the 2005 Copa Libertadores playing for Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño. He scored nine goals in the competition. The striker then played for FC Tokyo of Japan, but was loaned in the second half of 2006 to Newell's Old Boys of Argentina, after having problems with his coach Alexandre Gallo at FC Tokyo. Rosario Derby
The Rosario derby ("Clásico Rosarino") is the oldest and one of the most fiercely contested football rivalries in Argentine football. It is played between the two main teams from Rosario, Newell's Old Boys and Rosario Central. It is widely regarded as the most important Argentine derby outside of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires Province. The Apertura 2007 saw much success for the smaller teams in Argentine football. The eventual champions Lanús won the title for the first time in their history, the first maiden champions since Argentinos Juniors in 1984. Second place went to Tigre, a club playing their first season in the Argentine Primera since 1980 and making their best finish ever in the top flight. Alexandre Gallo
Alexandre Tadeu Gallo (born 29 May 1967) is a Brazilian football coach and former player who played as a defensive midfielder. Playing career Born in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Gallo joined the youth categories of hometown side Botafogo-SP in 1980. He was promoted to the first team in 1986, and made his professional debut on 15 March of the following year, in a 2–1 Campeonato Paulista home win over Mogi Mirim. Gallo was loaned to Vitória in 1991, before signing for Santos in the following year. He made his club debut on 18 July, in a 3–0 home win over former club Botafogo. The 2005 Copa Libertadores was the 46th edition of the Copa Libertadores. The champion also qualified for the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship. Fredy José Bareiro Gamarra (born 27 March 1982) is a Paraguayan former association football, footballer. Bareiro is one of very few footballers to have participated in back-to-back finals of the Copa Libertadores, playing for Club Olimpia, Olimpia Asunción in the 2013 Copa Libertadores Finals, 2013 final and for Club Nacional, Nacional Asunción in the 2014 Copa Libertadores Finals, 2014 final. Juan Eduardo Samudio
Juan Eduardo "El Magico" Samudio Serna (born 14 October 1978 in Asunción) is a former Paraguayan footballer. He held the record for most goals scored in the Paraguayan first division with 108 goals, and is the third maximum goal scorer of Paraguayan football with 119 goals, ahead of Fredy Bareiro (112). Career Samudio started his career in the youth divisions of Libertad and made his debut in 1996. While in Libertad the team got relegated to the 2nd division in 1998 but Samudio stayed in the team and helped in obtaining the promotion to 1st division in 2000. Football is by far the most popular sport in Paraguay. Paraguay's national team has played at eight FIFA World Cup competitions and has won two Copa América tournaments.
