Sanne Van Kerkhof
Sanne van Kerkhof (born 27 March 1987) is a Dutch former short track speed skater. She participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2014 Winter Olympics. She was part of the 3000 m relay team which was fourth in 2010; in 2014, the team was disqualified in the semifinal and did not advance to the finals. In 2015, van Kerkhof retired from competitions. Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice skating, ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters (typically between four and six) skate on an oval ice track with a length of . The rink itself is long by wide, which is the same size as an Olympic-sized figure skating rink and an international-sized ice hockey rink. Related sports include long-track speed skating and inline speed skating. History Short-track skating developed from speed skating events that were held with mass starts. Voorburg
Voorburg () is a town and former municipality in the west part of the province of South Holland, Netherlands. Together with the town Leidschendam and the village Stompwijk, it merged into the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg in 2002. Situated adjacent to the city of The Hague, it is often regarded as one of its suburbs. Yara Nina van Kerkhof (; born 31 May 1990) is a Dutch short track speed skater. She won the silver medal in the 500 m event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Career Van Kerkhof competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for the Netherlands. In the 500 metres she was second in her heat, advancing to a quarter-final, where she finished third, not advancing. In the 1500 metres she again advanced out of the first round, but was fifth in her semi-final, not advancing. She also competed in the 1000 metres, finishing third in her heat. As a member of the Dutch 3000 metre relay team, she was disqualified in the heats, again not advancing. Her best individual finish was in the 500m, where she was 11th.
