Samundar (TV Series)
''Samundar'' (meaning "ocean" in Urdu) was a 1983 Pakistani television serial presented by the PTV network. The drama serial was broadcast from the PTV Lahore center and was directed by Yawar Hayat and Qasim Jalali; Amjad Islam Amjad wrote the script. The drama serial is one of the most famous ones from PTV. It is remembered to this day due to its unique story line and huge star cast. Amjad Islam Amjad
Amjad Islam Amjad, Pride of Performance, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz (; 4 August 1944 – 10 February 2023) was a Pakistani Professor, Urdu poet, screenwriter, playwright and lyricist.Ally Adnan (September 2016), The author of more than 70 books, he received many awards for his literary work and screenplay for TV, including Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) awards. Later on, he also received the prestigious Tamgh-e-Imtiaz in 1998. Early life and education Amjad was born in Lahore, Punjab in British India (now Pakistan). His family originally belonged to Sialkot. He received his secondary education in Lahore, and graduated from Government Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore, Government Islamia College Civil Lines, Lahore. Nisar Qadri
Nisar Qadri (1940/1941 – 24 December 2023) was a Pakistani radio, stage, and television actor. He was honoured with the Pride of Performance Award in 2016. Life and career Qadri started his career in 1966 at Radio Pakistan, Rawalpindi. Later, he starred in numerous TV dramas, movies, and radio plays. In the TV play "''Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsana''", his catchy phrase "''Machis hogi aap ke paas?''" (Would you happen to have a matchbox?) became viral. Qadri suffered from facial palsy during the mid-2010s and was absent from the screen during this time. He died on 24 December 2023, at the age of 82. Irfan Khoosat (Punjabi language, Punjabi, ) (born 9 June 1952) is a Pakistani actor, director, producer and comedian. Yawar Hayat Khan (18 October 1943 3 November 2016), was a producer and director of the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) starting from 1965 to 2004. He is considered one of the chief architects of Pakistan Television drama serials in its early years after television was introduced in Pakistan in 1964.
