Sami Sirviö
Sami Sirviö (born 28 May 1970) is a Sweden Finnish musician and former lead guitarist of the now discontinued Swedish rock band Kent. Biography Sirviö formed Kent in 1990 along with vocalist Joakim Berg, bassist Martin Sköld, drummer Markus Mustonen and keyboardist Thomas Bergqvist. The band originally called themselves ''Jones & Giftet'' before changing their name first to ''Havsänglar'' and later Kent. By that time Bergqvist had been fired from the band and replaced by Martin Roos. After the release of the bands self-titled debut album Roos quit the band to focus on a career at BMG, the band soon recruited Harri Mänty as a replacement. The band continued to release several critically and commercially successful albums with that line-up intact until 2006 when rhythm guitarist Harri Mänty left the band. Instead of recruiting a permanent replacement Sirviö along with Jocke Berg recorded guitars for their 2007 release '' Tillbaka till samtiden''. For live performances the ...

Single Coil
A single-coil pickup is a type of magnetic transducer, or pickup, for the electric guitar and the electric bass. It electromagnetically converts the vibration of the strings to an electric signal. Single-coil pickups are one of the two most popular designs, along with dual-coil or " humbucking" pickups. History Beauchamp In the mid-1920s George Beauchamp, a Los Angeles, California, guitarist, began experimentation with electric amplification of the guitar. Originally using a phonograph pickup assembly, Beauchamp began testing many different combinations of coils and magnets trying to create the first electromagnetic guitar pickup. His earliest coils were wound using a motor from a washing machine. Later he switched to a sewing machine motor, and eventually used single-coiled magnets. Beauchamp was backed in his efforts by Adolph Rickenbacker, an engineer and wealthy owner of a successful tool and die business. Beauchamp eventually produced the first successful single- ...

Vapen & Ammunition
''Vapen & ammunition'' ( Swedish for ''Weapons & Ammunition'') is the fifth studio album by Swedish alternative rock band Kent. It was released on 15 April 2002 through RCA Records and BMG. Absent from this album is a long, mostly-instrumental song, rounding the album off, as had been a characteristic of the band ever since their second record ''Verkligen''. The white tiger on the cover is a tribute to the band's hometown Eskilstuna: the zoo in town had white tigers as its main attraction. ''Vapen & ammunition'' was voted Best Album of 2002 on the Grammis awards, the Swedish equivalent to the Grammy. It is the best-selling album by Kent. In an interview in January 2003, Berg spoke about the great success of ''Vapen & ammunition'': "What exists is a self-confidence underpinned by many years of work, a certainty that we know the art, know the craft, we can redo it and more than that, we can do it better. But that in itself is no guarantee that the commercial success can be surpas ...

The English version of the song " Noll" called "We Need To Eat" is from a English digipak promo for ''Hagnesta Hill''. Track listing * The lyrics contained in "Rollercoaster" ("All those memories will be lost in time/Like tears in the rain") are lifted from the penultimate scene of ''Blade Runner'', as spoken by Roy Batty to Rick Deckard. Guitar Speaker Cabinet
A guitar speaker is a loudspeaker – specifically the driver (transducer) part – designed for use in a combination guitar amplifier (in which a loudspeaker and an amplifier are installed in a wooden cabinet) of an electric guitar, or for use in a guitar speaker cabinet. Typically these drivers produce only the frequency range relevant to electric guitars, which is similar to a regular woofer A woofer or bass speaker is a technical term for a loudspeaker driver designed to produce low frequency sounds, typically from 50 up to 200 Hz. The name is from the onomatopoeic English word for a dog's deep bark, " woof" (in contrast to a ' ... type driver, which is approximately 75 Hertz, Hz — 5 kHz, or for electric bass speakers, down to 41 Hertz, Hz  for regular four-string basses or down to about 30 Hz for five-string instruments. Hiwatt
Hiwatt (stylized in all caps) is a British company that manufactures amplifiers for electric guitars and electric basses. Starting in the late 1960s, together with Marshall and Vox, Hiwatt contributed to the sonic image popularly termed "British sound". History Hylight and Sound City Reeves started the Hylight company (the name came from an early 1960s band named "The Hylights" that a friend belonged to), registering the name in September 1966. To help finance the start of his company, Reeves contracted with Ivor Arbiter's Sound City music store to manufacture Sound City-branded guitar amplifiers. These amps (the so-called "Mark I") were Reeves' current amplifier design re-badged with the Sound City name. With as much power but a cleaner sound than their Marshall counterparts, Sound City amplifiers were adopted by The Who's John Entwistle and Pete Townshend in 1967. After Jimi Hendrix James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942Se ...

Fender Concert
The Fender Concert was a guitar amplifier made by Fender Musical Instruments. Its production can be split over 2 phases. The first of these running from 1960 and until approximately 1965, at which time a typical Fender Concert was priced at $315. During the 1960s, the Concert was for all practical purposes the same amplifier as the Fender Vibrasonic, Vibrasonic but with four 10" speakers. In a later phase, the Concert was updated by Paul Rivera in the early 1980s ("concert" and "concert II") and a subsequent 1x12 variant of the Concert amp appeared briefly in the mid-1990s. Phase I: The 1960s The Fender Concert has gone through a number of changes over the years, both cosmetically and electronically. The Concert amp was introduced as a replacement for the 4-10 tweed Bassman amplifier. Due to the popularity of the Bassman, both amplifiers were produced concurrently during 1960. Unlike most of the other Professional Series amps however, the Concert (along with Fender Vibrasonic) were ...

Vox AC30
The Vox AC30 is a Instrument amplifier, guitar amplifier manufactured by Vox (company), Vox. It was introduced in 1958 to meet the growing demand for louder amplifiers. Its "jangly" high-end sound made it widely used by British musicians and others, including George Harrison and John Lennon of the Beatles, Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, Brian May of Queen (band), Queen, Dave Davies of the Kinks and Hank Marvin. History Vox's original flagship amplifier was the 15-watt AC15, powered by a pair of EL84 Vacuum tube, tubes, an EZ81 rectifier, an EF86-driven "Normal" channel, an ECC83-driven "Vib-Trem" channel. After the AC15 proved too weak to be heard over the screaming fans at Cliff Richard's concerts, Hank Marvin asked Vox to build a "big brother". Introduced in 1959, the first-generation AC30 used EL84 tubes, a GZ34 tube rectifier, three ECC83s (12AX7) for the Normal channel and the tremolo/vibrato oscillator/modulator circuits and one ECC81 (12AT7) phase inverter. The amplifi ...

Delay (audio Effect)
Delay is an audio signal processing technique that records an input signal to a storage medium and then plays it back after a period of time. When the delayed playback is electronic mixer, mixed with the live audio, it creates an echo-like effect, whereby the original audio is heard followed by the delayed audio. The delayed signal may be played back multiple times, or fed back into the recording, to create the sound of a repeating, decaying echo. Delay effects range from a subtle echo effect to a pronounced blending of previous sounds with new sounds. Delay effects can be created using tape loops, an approach developed in the 1940s and 1950s and used by artists including Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Analog effects units were introduced in the 1970s; digital effects pedals in 1984; and audio plug-in software in the 2000s. History The first delay effects were achieved using tape loops improvised on reel-to-reel audio tape recording systems. By shortening or lengthening the loo ...
