Isola (album)
''Isola'' is the third studio album by Swedish alternative rock band Kent. It was released on 12 November 1997. It was followed by an English version in 1998, for which a new song, "Velvet", was recorded. The ending song from the album, "747", became a fan favourite and was usually one of the songs Kent used to close their concerts. ''Isola'' won the "Album of the Year" award at the Swedish Grammy Awards in 1998. Hayley Williams from Paramore has stated that she is a fan of the band and that her favorite song of them is "Things She Said" from English version of ''Isola''. Kent (band)
Kent was a Swedish alternative rock band formed in Eskilstuna in 1990. With members Joakim Berg, Martin Sköld, Sami Sirviö and Markus Mustonen, the band had numerous radio hits throughout Sweden and Scandinavia and consecutive number-one studio albums on the Sweden top list (Sverigetopplistan) beginning with the release of ''Verkligen'' (1996) and led by the single "Kräm (så nära får ingen gå)". With origins rooted in distorted Rock music, rock, they found mainstream success through their alternative rock albums of the mid-1990s, 2000s and 2010s, the latter decades during which they adopted elements of Synth-pop, synthpop. Hayley Williams
Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist and only constant member of the rock band Paramore, which she co-founded in 2004. Williams was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi. Her parents divorced when she was 13 and she moved with her mother to Franklin, Tennessee, where she later formed Paramore alongside Josh Farro, Zac Farro, and Jeremy Davis. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, based on sales data from IFPI Sverige. It was formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and has been known by its current name since October 2007. Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. Harri Kalervo Mänty (born 31 July 1971 in Västerås) is a Sweden Finnish musician and former member of the now discontinued Swedish rock band Kent. Mänty joined the band in 1996 to replace Martin Roos and remained until 2006. In the band, he played guitar and percussion. Mänty is a music graduate. Before joining Kent, he was the vocalist for hardcore punk/crust punk band No Security. Sami Sirviö (born 28 May 1970) is a Sweden Finnish musician and former lead guitarist of the now discontinued Swedish rock band Kent. Biography Sirviö formed Kent in 1990 along with vocalist Joakim Berg, bassist Martin Sköld, drummer Markus Mustonen and keyboardist Thomas Bergqvist. The band originally called themselves ''Jones & Giftet'' before changing their name first to ''Havsänglar'' and later Kent. By that time Bergqvist had been fired from the band and replaced by Martin Roos. After the release of the bands self-titled debut album Roos quit the band to focus on a career at BMG, the band soon recruited Harri Mänty as a replacement. Joakim Berg
Herbert Joakim "Jocke" Berg (born 16 March 1970) is a Swedish singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band Kent. Biography Berg was born and grew up in Eskilstuna. He moved to Stockholm in 1993 after the founding of Kent, and has lived there since. Berg was the main songwriter, lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band, which officially disbanded on 17 December 2016, according to the band's official web site. He is the older brother of director Adam Berg, who has directed several of Kent's music videos.
