Sam Rainsy
Sam Rainsy (, Romanization of Khmer#UNGEGN, UNGEGN: , Romanization of Khmer#ALA-LC Romanization Tables, ALA-LC: ; born 10 March 1949) is a Cambodian activism, activist, economist and former politician who most recently served as the Leader of the Opposition (Cambodia), Leader of the Opposition. He is now the interim leader of the Cambodia National Rescue Party due to the continued ban on political activity by the party's leader, Kem Sokha. Between 1998 and 2017, he was the leading opposition figure in Cambodian politics and the main challenger to prime minister Hun Sen and the Cambodian People's Party. Since 2015, he has lived in exile, having been banned from entering the country. Sam Rainsy became a member of parliament for Siem Reap in 1993 in elections organized by UNTAC. Leader Of The Opposition (Cambodia)
The Minority Leader (), or the Leader of the Opposition, leads the largest political party not in government in the National Assembly of Cambodia. The Minority Leader acts as a dialogue partner of the Prime Minister, and the Majority Leader. The official minority party must secure at least 25% of the total seats in Parliament. The role was officially recognized by Parliament in November 2014, making Sam Rainsy the first official Minority Leader. However, prior to this, Rainsy had often been viewed as the ''de facto'' Leader of the Opposition. As in nearly every parliamentary democracy around the world, the Minority Leader comes from the political party with the largest number of seats in the Parliament yet is not in government. Tioulong Saumura
Tioulong Saumura (; born 9 July 1950, ) is a Cambodian politician and financial analyst. She was a member of the Cambodia National Rescue Party and was elected to represent Phnom Penh (National Assembly constituency), Phnom Penh in the National Assembly of Cambodia in 2003. She was also the Deputy Governor of Cambodia's Central Bank from 1993 to 1995. Saumura was born in 1950 as one of the seven daughters of former Prime Minister of Cambodia, prime minister Nhiek Tioulong and Lok Chumteav Measketh Samphotre. She and her six sisters passed much of their childhood outside of Cambodia, primarily in France, but also in Moscow, and Tokyo. While in France, she received a postgraduate degree in economics from the University of Paris in 1974. Romanization Of Khmer
The romanization of Khmer is a representation of the Khmer (Cambodian) language using letters of the Latin alphabet. This is most commonly done with Khmer proper nouns, such as names of people and geographical names, as in a gazetteer.
