Telepathy is a software framework which can be used to make software for interpersonal communications such as instant messaging, Voice over IP or videoconferencing. Telepathy enables the creation of communications applications using components via the D-Bus inter-process communication mechanism. Through this it aims to simplify development of communications applications and promote code reuse within the free software and open source communities by defining a logical boundary between the applications and underlying network protocols. Implementations There are free software implementations of various protocols that export Telepathy interfaces: * Gabble: for XMPP, including support for Jingle * Butterfly: for Windows Live Messenger * Idle: for Internet Relay Chat * Salut: for the link-local XMPP protocol * Haze: for accessing protocols supported by libpurple, the library used by the Pidgin messaging client. This was done as a Google Summer of Code project in 2007. * Spirit: for the S ...

Salut D'amor
A ''salut d'amor'' (, ; "love letter", lit. "greeting of love") or (''e'')''pistola'' ("epistle") was an Occitan lyric poem of the troubadours, written as a letter from one lover to another in the tradition of courtly love. Some songs preserved in the Italian ''Quattrocento'' and '' Cinquecento'' chansonniers are labelled in the rubrics as ''saluts'' (or some equivalent), but the ''salut'' is not treated as a genre by medieval Occitan grammarians. The trouvères copied the Occitan song style into Old French as the ''salut d'amour''. There are a total of nineteen surviving Occitan ''saluts'' and twelve French ones, with a Catalan examples (of the ''salutació amorosa'') also. The poetic form probably derives from the classical Latin">Catalan language">Catalan examples (of the ''salutació amorosa'') also. Salute
A salute is usually a formal hand gesture or other action used to display respect in military situations. Salutes are primarily associated with the military and law enforcement, but many civilian organizations, such as Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and the Salvation Army use formal salutes. Ordinary civilians also salute informally to greet or acknowledge the presence of another person, such as a tip of the hat or a hand wave to a friend or neighbor. Military salutes Throughout history, military organizations have used many methods to perform salutes. Depending on the situation a salute could be a hand or body gesture, cannon or rifle shots, hoisting of flags, removing headgear, or other means of showing respect or deference. Port Salut
Port Salut () is a semi-soft pasteurised cow's milk cheese from Pays de la Loire, France, with a distinctive orange rind and a mild flavour. The cheese is produced in wheels approximately 23 cm (9 inches) in diameter, weighing approximately . Though Port Salut has a mild flavour, it sometimes has a strong smell because it is a mature cheese. The smell increases the longer the cheese is kept; this does not affect its flavour. It can be refrigerated and is best eaten within two weeks of opening. The cheese was developed by Trappist monks during the 19th century at Port-du-Salut Abbey in Entrammes. The monks, many of whom had left France during the French Revolution of 1789, learned cheese-making skills to support themselves abroad, and brought those skills back upon their return after the Bourbon Restoration. The name of their society, "Société Anonyme des Fermiers Réunis" ( S.A.F.R.), later became their registered trademark, and is still printed on the wheels ...
