Salim Babullaoghlu
Salim Babullaoghlu () is an Azerbaijani poet. Thousands copies of his books have been sold in his homeland and have been translated into more than ten languages. He is also an Azerbaijani novelist, essayist, journalist and translator. His books have been published in Turkey, Germany, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine,. Hungary, Romania, Iran and Serbia. Babullaoghlu was born on December 10, 1972, and graduated from Baku State University, Faculty of Library Science in 1995. For many years he worked as a journalist, editor in various literary institutions. He is a founder of the magazine "The World Literature". He is also a member of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan and the Bishkek Pen. Şirvan, Azerbaijan
Shirvan () is a Administrative divisions of Azerbaijan, city in Azerbaijan, located on the Kura (Caspian Sea), Kura River. It was called ''Zubovka'' until 1938 and ''Əli Bayramlı (other), Ali Bayramli'' until 2008. From 1938 to 1954, Shirvan possessed the status of a village. It obtained the status of a city of Republican level on January 4, 1963. The territory of Shirvan is 72.7 km2, and the population is 87,400 according to the Census in Azerbaijan, 2020 census. The Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, also referred to as the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic, Azerbaijan SSR, Azerbaijani SSR, AzSSR, Soviet Azerbaijan or simply Azerbaijan, was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union between 1922 and 1991. Baku State University
Baku State University (BSU) (BDU; ) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Established on 1 September 1919 by the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the university started with faculties of history and philology, physics and mathematics, and law and medicine, with an initial enrollment of 1094. The first rector of BSU was V.I.Razumovsky, a former professor of surgery at Kazan University. In 1930, the government of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic ordered the university shut down in accordance with a reorganization of higher education, and the university was replaced with the Supreme Pedagogical Institute. However, in 1934 the university was reestablished again and continued to work through the difficult years of World War II experiencing a shortage of faculty members. The Union of Azerbaijani Writers () is the largest public organization of Azerbaijani writers, poets and publicists. It has over 1500 members at present. It was founded on June 13, 1934, when Azerbaijan was a part of the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. History Prior to 1934, Azerbaijani writers grouped in variety of literary unions. In 1923, a group of writers formed the "İldırım" United Organization of Turkic Publicists and Poets. Later, in 1925, another organization known as "Qızıl qələmlər" (''Golden Pens'') was established uniting most writers and regularly conducting literary gathering events. The Union of Azerbaijani Writers was established on June 13, 1934. There were 93 members upon its registration.
