Dinara Mubinovna Safina (; ; tt-Cyrl, Динара Мөбин кызы Сафина; born April 27, 1986) is a Russian former world No. 1 tennis player. Safina was runner-up in singles at the 2008 French Open, 2009 Australian Open, and the 2009 French Open, falling to Ana Ivanovic, Serena Williams, and Svetlana Kuznetsova, respectively. She had success at Grand Slam events in women's doubles by winning the 2007 US Open with Nathalie Dechy. Lenar Rinatovich Safin (russian: Ленар Ринатович Сафин; born 11 February 1969) is a Russian politician. From 2020 to 2022, he served as a senator from Tatarstan. Career Lenar Safin was born on 11 February 1969 in Arsk, Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1993, he graduated from the Kazan Federal University. After graduation, Safin worked as an Assistant at the Department of History and Law. From 1995 to 1998, he served as a senior teacher of the Department of Criminal Law of Kazan State University. Shazam Sergeyevich Safin (russian: Шазам Серге́евич Сафин, tt-Cyrl, Шәзам Сафа улы Сафин; born 17 April 1932 – 1985) was a Soviet wrestler of Tatar heritage who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. He was born in Kochki-Pozharki, Nizhny Novgorod. At the USSR championship-1952 Shazam Safin took the third place. According to the classification of that period, this result was not high enough for the title of master of sports to be conferred upon the athlete. To receive the "master of sports" title, the athlete was either to win the USSR national championship or to take second place. Shukhrat Safin (3 April 1970 – 20 September 2009) was an Uzbekistani chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 1999. Safin shared first place with Mikhail Gurevich and Victor Mikhalevski in the Hogeschool Zeeland Tournament in Vlissingen. He finished third on tiebreak score. In 2001, Safin won the Uzbekistani Chess Championship. In late November of the same year, he took part in the FIDE World Championship. Here he was knocked out in the first round by Predrag Nikolić.
