Ostap Safin (born 11 February 1999) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward. He is currently playing for Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Safin made his Czech Extraliga debut playing with Sparta Prague during the 2015–16 Czech Extraliga season. Safin was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round, 115th overall, in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Hockey Club Sparta Praha, commonly known as HC Sparta Prague, is a Prague-based Czech ice hockey team playing in the Czech Extraliga. 2017–18 QMJHL Season
The 2017–18 QMJHL season was the 49th season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season began on September 21, 2017, and ended on March 18, 2018. The playoffs started March 22, 2018, and ended on May 13. 2017–18 AHL Season
The 2017–18 AHL season was the 82nd season of the American Hockey League. The regular season ran from October 6, 2017, to April 15, 2018. The 2018 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season. The Toronto Marlies won their first Calder Cup in seven games over the Texas Stars. The Chance Liga is the second-highest level of professional ice hockey in the Czech Republic, after the Extraliga. It began in 1993 and is run and administered by Czech Ice Hockey Association. Until 2015, the league was known as the 1st Czech National Hockey League. It was then known as the WSM Liga until 2018. Format In the first phase, every team plays each other four times—twice at home and twice away—which makes for a 52-game regular season. HC Stadion Litoměřice
HC Stadion Litoměřice is an ice hockey team from Litoměřice, Czech Republic. The team was founded in 2007, however, there was a different team in Litoměřice, operating from the 1970s up to the 1990s. They began in the Czech Second League. They won the league in the 2009-2010 season, and were thus promoted to the First League. In 2012, the team became an affiliate of HC Sparta Praha, an Extraliga team, and their partnership ended in 2015. That same year, Stadion became an affiliate of Mountfield HK. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the referee, or in some cases, the linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short-handed as opposed to full strength. When the opposing team is said to be on a '' power play'', they will have one more player on the ice than the short-handed team. The short-handed team is said to be "on the penalty kill" until the penalty expires and the penalized player returns to play. In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal).
