Sachrudin
Sachrudin (born 6 November 1961) is an Indonesian politician of the Golkar party and former bureaucrat who has been the mayor of Tangerang since 20 February 2025. He was previously the city's vice mayor under Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah for two terms between 2013 and 2023, and had served in the city's government since 1996 before that. Early life Sachrudin was born on 6 November 1961 at the village of Gondrong, today part of Cipondoh district of Tangerang. He studied in Tangerang, completing elementary school at Cipondoh in 1975, middle school in 1979, and high school in 1982. Career After completing high school, Sachrudin briefly worked as a factory worker at Surya Toto, a closet and urinoir manufacturer. 2024 Tangerang Mayoral Election
The 2024 Tangerang mayoral election was held on 27 November 2024 as part of 2024 Indonesian local elections, nationwide local elections to elect the mayor and vice mayor of Tangerang for a five-year term. The previous election was held in 2018. Former Vice Mayor Sachrudin of Golkar won the election with 51% of the vote. Faldo Maldini of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) placed second with 33%, followed by Ahmad Amarullah of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), who received 15%. Electoral system The election, like other local elections in 2024, follow the First-past-the-post voting, first-past-the-post system where the candidate with the most votes wins the election, even if they do not win a majority. Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah
Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah (born 23 April 1977) is the mayor of Tangerang between 2013 and 2023. Supported by the Democratic Party, he is also the owner of a hospital network. Personal life Wismansyah was born in Karawaci, a district of Tangerang, in 23 April 1977. He was the third son of Marsudi Haryoputro and Siti Rochayah, who were doctors operating their own clinic. His parents originated from the same village in Kebumen, Central Java. He graduated from SMA Negeri 8 Jakarta, before resuming his higher education in Western Michigan University where he earned his bachelor's in engineering management on 2000. Later, he completed his master's course in Gadjah Mada University, obtaining a degree in healthcare administration in 2006. Wahidin Halim (born 14 August 1954) is an Indonesian politician who is the formerly Governor of Banten, having held that position since 2017 to 2022. Before being elected to the office, Halim had spent two years as a legislator and ten years as the mayor of Tangerang. Halim was born in Tangerang and completed his higher education in the University of Indonesia.
