Elissar Zakaria Khoury ( ar, إليسار زكريا خوري; born 27 October 1972), commonly known as Elissa ( ar, إليسا), is a Lebanese recording artist. Fadel Abdul Rahman Shamander Chaker ( ar, فضل عبد الرحمن شمندر شاكر ; also transliterated as Fadl Shaker, born 1 April 1969) is a Lebanese singer and actor. During his musical career he was signed to Al Khouyoul Records and from 2003 onwards with Rotana Records. In 2013 and after an illustrious career as a singer, Fadel Chaker joined the ranks of imam-turned-terrorist Ahmed al-Assir and participated in the attacks on the Lebanese army which later evolved into the 2013 Sidon clash. Ragheb Alama ( ar, راغب علامة born 7 June 1962) is a Lebanese singer, dancer, composer, television personality, and philanthropist. Alama began his career in the 1980s when he appeared as a contestant on the talent show broadcast Studio El Fan, on which he received the Platinum Award. Arabic pop music or Arab pop music is a subgenre of pop music and Arabic music. Arabic pop is mainly produced and originated in Cairo, Egypt; as Egyptian music genre is by far the most widespread within the region. Also Beirut, Lebanon, and Gulf states come as secondary centers. It is an outgrowth of the Arabic film industry (mainly Egyptian movies), also predominantly located in Cairo. Since 2000, various locations in the Gulf countries have been producing Khaleeji pop music. The primary style is a genre that synthetically combines pop melodies with elements of different Arabic regional styles, called ''ughniyah'' ( ar, أغنية) or in English "song".
