SX3, styled Super3 () until 2022, is a Catalan public television channel owned by Televisió de Catalunya in the Catalan language. It started broadcasting on 18 October 2009. The channel's programs are aimed at children and teenagers. It is based on the programme ''Club Super3'', that started on 11 February 1991 on TV3 and has been seen on El 33 and on K3. In contrast to K3, which broadcast children and youth programming, SX3 airs series aimed at an audience younger than 14 years. A mix of live-action originals and animated series from a wide variety of countries, including Japan, are aired, all in the Catalan language. The schedule is not differentiated by specific blocks, so programs for preschoolers, older kids and teenagers all air throughout the course of the day. Televisió de Catalunya (, known by the acronym TVC) is the public broadcasting network of Catalonia, one of the seventeen autonomous communities of Spain. It is part of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals, a public corporation created by the Generalitat de Catalunya by a Founding Act in 1983. Slightly more than half of its revenue (52%) comes from public funding through the Generalitat de Catalunya, while the remaining 48% is raised through advertising, sponsorship and merchandise and original productions' sales. 3/24 (, ''tres vint-i-quatre'') is a Catalan free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Televisió de Catalunya (TVC). It's the TVC's all-news network, launched on 11 September 2003. History 3/24 was launched on 11 September 2003 as an initiative of the Catalan public television to develop digital terrestrial television in Catalonia. In April 2015, the channel stopped broadcasting in the Balearic Islands, along with channels El 33 and Super3 (which run under the same frequency) as a result of the reorganisation of the regional radio space, returning in December of that same year. During the COVID-19 lockdown in spring 2020, the channel began sharing its broadcasts with TV3. On 16 January 2024, 3/24 switched its 576i SD feed to 1080i HD, as did all the other TVC channels. TV3 () is the primary television channel of Catalan public broadcaster Televisió de Catalunya, a subsidiary of the CCMA. TV3 broadcasts programmes only in Catalan and Aranese, with an optional dual track in the original language for some foreign-language series and movies, although Spanish is not dubbed or subtitled. El 33 () is Catalonia's second public television channel. It belongs to Televisió de Catalunya, a subsidiary of the CCMA. History The idea of a second channel in Catalonia began in 1988, with a controversy between Televisión Española, which planned to launch a third channel exclusively for Catalonia and produced solely in Sant Cugat del Vallès, but the CCRTV (Corporació Catalana de Ràdio i Televisió) had planned to launch the second channel called Canal 33. As TV4, it began its test broadcasts in mid-May 1988, on UHF channel 47 in Barcelona, from the transmitter located in Tibidabo. In order to broadcast on such a high UHF frequency, TV4 had to find a more powerful transmitter. Esport3 () is a TV channel of Televisió de Catalunya dedicated to sports programming. Overview Sports programming includes transmissions and sporting events, especially during prime-time on Mondays to Fridays and all weekend. The channel completes its commitment to programs that focus on the lifestyle sports, promoting emerging talents such as being in shape, health, adventure, the outdoors and extreme sports. Every Monday to Thursday nights, a sports talk-show ' is being broadcast and it is hosted by Lluís Canut. K3 (TV Channel)
K3 () was a Catalan public television channel operated by Televisió de Catalunya available in analogue and DTT in Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Valencia, Andorra, Northern Catalonia and partly in Aragon. K3 was born in 2001 from the re-estructuration of TVC's second channel, Canal 33, that split it in two channels that shared the same frequency: 33 and K3. While this was valid for analogue broadcasting, the DDT broadcasting changed in December 2006. 33 got the old frequency on its own, while K3 shared its multiplex slot with the 300 channel. K3 was a children/teenagers channel, that usually broadcasts from morning to 21:30 on weekdays and a couple of hours around midday on the weekend. Digital terrestrial television (DTTV, DTT, or DTTB) is a technology for terrestrial television, in which television stations broadcast television content in a digital signal, digital format.
