State Highway 8 (SH 8) is an long state highway in the U.S. state of Colorado. SH 8's western terminus is at U.S. Route 285 (US 285) in Morrison, and the eastern terminus is at SH 121 in Lakewood. Route description From its western terminus at the interchange with the U.S. Highway 285 freeway, SH 8 runs north in the town of Morrison, then east on Morrison Road to its eastern terminus at State Highway 121, also known as Wadsworth Boulevard, in Lakewood. The entire length of this highway is a little less than nine miles (14 km), all within the western suburbs of Denver and entirely within Jefferson County. No part of SH 8 is a freeway. State Highway 391 (SH 391) is a long north–south state highway in the vicinity of Denver, Colorado. Route description The southern terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 285 (US 285) in Lakewood. The northern terminus is at Interstate 70 (I-70) exit 267 in Wheat Ridge. The road is known as Kipling Parkway from US 285 north to West Mississippi Avenue and Kipling Street from Mississippi to I-70. History The route was established in 1955, when it began at Colfax Avenue and headed south to Alameda Avenue. The northern terminus was extended to 44th Avenue by 1967 and to I-70 by 1968. SH 470 (CO)
State Highway 470 (C-470, SH 470) is a state highway located in the southwestern portion of the Denver Metro Area. It is also the southwestern portion of the Denver Metro area's beltway. SH 470 begins at US 6 in Golden and heads south interchanging Interstate 70 and then US 285 outside Morrison. After leaving Morrison, it then heads east passing by Littleton and through Highlands Ranch before interchanging Interstate 25 in Lone Tree, where the freeway continues as a tollway and where the state highway designation ends. The highway was originally planned to be a full continuous beltway around Denver and was also proposed to be in the Interstate Highway System and designated as Interstate 470 (I-470) in the 1960s. However, the beltway project was attacked on environmental impact grounds and the interstate beltway was never built. State Highway 74 (SH 74) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Colorado. Running from Interstate 70 (I-70) in El Rancho to SH 8 in Morrison, the highway roughly follows a hook-shaped path running northwest–southeast. The section of the route north of the town of Evergreen is known as Evergreen Parkway and is a segment with a four- to six-lane roadway, with the section east of Evergreen mostly two lanes. The other section is known as the Bear Creek Canyon Scenic Mountain Drive, or just Bear Creek Road, and primarily parallels Bear Creek, passing through the towns of Kittredge and Idledale. The Town of Morrison is a home rule municipality in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The population was 428 at the 2010 census. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located nearby.
