Sport Vereniging Botopasi is a Surinamese football club based in Botopasi, Sipaliwini. They currently play in the Eerste Divisie, the second division of Surinamese football and are the only Sipaliwinese club to play in the top tier. Stadium Botopasi currently have no football stadium in the village. The training grounds of the club is a football field which is also used as a landing strip for small airplanes. The team currently play their official matches in the Mgr. Aloysius Zichem Sportcentrum in the Capital Paramaribo. SVB Eerste Divisie
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the second highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June, with each team playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was previously known as the Hoofdklasse but was rebranded as the Topklasse for the 2016–17 season, before being renamed the Eerste Divisie starting in the 2017–18 season. In 2024, the SVB introduced a new professional competition, the Suriname Major League, with the Eerste Divisie now serving as the nation's top amateur competition. The 2022–23 SVB Tweede Divisie was the 65th official season of the SVB Tweede Divisie, the 2nd division of Suriname. The SVB Tweede Divisie is third-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the SVB Eerste Divisie, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Derde Divisie.
