S.K. Roeselare
Sportkring Roeselare, abbreviated to SK Roeselare, also known in French as SK Roulers, is a Belgian football club from the city of Roeselare in West Flanders. The club set to play in Belgian Division 1 from 2025–26, the third tier of Belgian football after promotion from Belgian Division 2 in 2024–25. Its matricule is 8264 and club has black and white as club colours. History In 1975, ''VK Dadizele'' joined the Belgian FA, receiving matricule 8264. The club never left the Belgian Provincial Leagues, but almost gained promotion to the national level in 2019 via the promotion playoffs. In 2021, the club merged with K.S.V. Roeselare, which had just gone bankrupt while playing in the Belgian National Division 1 (third level). The club continued as SK Roeselare-Daisel using the matricule of VK Dadizele and continuing from the level of Dadizele (at that time the sixth level (First Provincial Division West-Flanders)). Roeselare (; ; ) is a Belgian city and municipality in the Flemish province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Roeselare proper and the towns of Beveren, Oekene and Rumbeke. The name of the city is derived from two Germanic words meaning "reed" and "open space", ''i.e.'', a marsh in a forest glade. Belgian Division 1
The Belgian Division 1 is a semi-professional division and the third-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Challenger Pro League. It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, coming in at the third level and pushing all divisions one level down. Initially it was known as the ''Belgian First Amateur Division'', but due to the negative connotation of the word ''amateur'' the league was renamed to Belgian National Division 1 from the 2019–20 season onwards. Belgian Provincial Leagues
The Belgian Provincial leagues are the lower leagues for Belgian football. Until 2016, these were at levels 5-8 in the Belgian football league system however as part of the reform an extra level was created causing the provincial leagues to drop to levels 6-9. The provincial leagues are divided into 9 regional league systems (one for each province, but Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant are merged and contain also the football teams from the Brussels Capital Region). Each league system is itself divided into 4 levels (except for Luxembourg where there are only 3). The number of leagues at each level depends on the province, but every province must have only one league at the top level.
