Róbert Švec
Róbert Švec (born 21 August 1976) is a Slovak politician who has served as chairman of the Slovak Revival Movement since 2019. Early and personal life Born 21 August 1976 in Nitra, Švec studied political science at the University of Trnava. Political career In the 2019 Slovak presidential election, Švec ran as an independent candidate for the President of Slovakia. On 28 January 2019, he submitted more than 18,000 signatures confirming his candidacy for the presidency. During the first round in March 2019, Švec received 6,567 votes and did not advance to the second round. After the 2019 presidential election, Švec founded his political party, the Slovak Revival Movement (SHO), and became its chairman. He ran as the leader of SHO candidates in the 2020 Slovak parliamentary election, but the party did not win any seat. RTVS
Radio and Television of Slovakia ( ), or RTVS, was a nationwide public broadcasting, state-funded organisation in Slovakia. The organisation was created in 2011 following a merger of Slovenská televízia (Slovak Television) with Slovenský rozhlas (Slovak Radio). It was headquartered in Bratislava. Like its two predecessor organisations - Slovenská televízia (STV) and Slovenský rozhlas (SRo), RTVS was a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) transformed into Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) on 1 July 2024. Finances Funding for the RTVS was obtained through advertising and government payments. Markíza
Markíza (also known as Televízia Markíza) is a Slovak television channel launched on August 31, 1996. The channel was founded by a later politician Pavol Rusko, and is now part of the Central European Media Enterprises (CME). It also operates television channels Doma (since 2009), Dajto (since 2012), Markíza International (since 2016), Markíza KRIMI (since 2022) and Markíza Klasik (since 2024). In 2020, CME was bought out by Peter Kellner's investment group PPF. PPF is therefore the new owner of tv Markíza. TV JOJ is a Slovak private TV channel owned by J&T Enterprises and launched in March 2002. The channel screens serial dramas and TV shows. The name JOJ is derived from a Slovak interjection, comparable to ''oh là là''.
