RTVS
Radio and Television of Slovakia ( ), or RTVS, was a nationwide public broadcasting, state-funded organisation in Slovakia. The organisation was created in 2011 following a merger of Slovenská televízia (Slovak Television) with Slovenský rozhlas (Slovak Radio). It was headquartered in Bratislava. Like its two predecessor organisations - Slovenská televízia (STV) and Slovenský rozhlas (SRo), RTVS was a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) transformed into Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) on 1 July 2024. Finances Funding for the RTVS was obtained through advertising and government payments. There was also monthly licence fee levied on most individuals registered with electricity retailers and most businesses containing three or more employees. Slovak Television and Radio ( ), in short STVR is a nationwide public broadcasting, government-owned corporation, state-funded organisation in Slovakia. Its headquarters are located in Bratislava and led by General Director Martina Flašíková. Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) transformed into Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) on 1 July 2024, though the RTVS logo and visual layout was retained for a few months. STVR is a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Slovak Television Building
The Slovak Television Building () (formerly known as the BTP ČST Bratislava between 1975 and 1991, and BTP STV or colloquially STV/RTVS High-rise Building between 1991 and 2011) is a skyscraper in Bratislava, Slovakia. Standing at a total of 108 metres (354 ft) tall and being divided into 27 (+1) floors, the landmark tower is currently unused. It previously hosted the headquarters of the Slovak National Television (STV) and Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS). History The building is situated in the cadastral territory of the Karlova Ves borough from the Bratislava 4 district, in Mlynská dolina. Slovenský rozhlas (, ) or SRo was a state-owned nationwide public-service radio broadcaster in Slovakia. It was headquartered in Bratislava in a building shaped like an inverted pyramid, which currently serves as STVR radio's headquarters. History SRo began broadcasting from Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. Initially broadcast twice per week on 3 August 1926, it began to broadcast daily from 2 October 1926. Rádio FM (styled Rádio_FM) is the fourth channel of the public Slovak Radio. It is an alternative music radio and was originally created on 4 March 1991 under the name Rock FM Radio. Rádio FM began with the tradition of awarding Radio Head Awards. Its listeners chose the best Slovak album, Single of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Best live act of the Year and another prize is awarded also by professional music critics made up of Rádio FM and partner media editors.
