Rui Marques (Formula One)
Rui Marques (born 1972 or 1973) is a Portuguese motorsport official who currently serves as the Formula One race director. He was promoted to the position in November 2024. Career Early career Marques began his career at the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile in 2012. He previously worked in Kart racing, karting in his home country of Portugal, and also as the race director for the World Touring Car Championship. He has also served as a Motorsport marshal, track marshal, Scrutineer#Sport, scrutineer, and steward. In 2024, Marques served as the race director for FIA Formula 2 Championship, Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 Championship, Formula 3. He also directed the 2024 Macau Grand Prix, which featured a large number of red flags and safety cars across the weekend. Grand Prix Drivers' Association
The Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) is the trade union of Formula One drivers. Founded in 1961 and refounded in 1994, it has organised several drivers' strikes and boycotts over the years, primarily in response to unsafe circuits on the F1 calendar and other driver safety issues. Claire Dubbelman (born 1985 or 1986) is a Dutch motorsport official who serves as the permanent deputy race director for Formula One. Early life Dubbelman's father, Huub, worked as a journalist and in public relations for Mercedes-Benz in the Netherlands. The 2024 Qatar Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2024) was a Formula One motor race held on 1 December 2024 at the Lusail International Circuit in Lusail, Qatar. It was the twenty-third and penultimate round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship and the sixth and final Grand Prix weekend of the season to utilise the sprint format.
