Rui Chenggang
Rui Chenggang (; born September 24, 1977) was a Chinese news anchor and journalist for China's state-run broadcaster China Central Television. He was well known for his "unabashedly nationalistic" style when hosting economy and finance related shows with wide viewership on the channel CCTV-2. He was detained for investigation by Chinese prosecution organs in July 2014, accused of corruption. Career Rui was born in Hefei, Anhui in 1977. He went to No. 8 Middle School in Hefei, and was the president of the student council. In 1995 during ''Gaokao'' exams, Rui ranked first among social science and humanities students in his city, and ranked fourth in his province. Ye Yingchun (; born January 23, 1970) is a Chinese news anchor and journalist for China's state-run broadcaster China Central Television. She is known for hosting various programs on CCTV-4, the official Chinese-language channel targeting overseas viewers. In August 2014, Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television reported that Ye had been detained for investigation in connection with the Zhou Yongkang case. A far-reaching anti-corruption campaign began in China following the conclusion of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 2012. The campaign, carried out under the aegis of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, was the largest organized anti-corruption effort in the history of CCP rule in China. Upon taking office, Xi vowed to crack down on "tigers and flies", that is, high-level officials and local civil servants alike.
