''Prasthanam'' () is a 2010 Indian Telugu-language political action drama film written and directed by Deva Katta. The film was produced by Ravi Vallabhaneni under VRC Media & Entertainment banner. The film stars Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan (in his career acting debut) and Ruby Parihar. The film received generally positive response upon release with praise for Sai Kumar's performance. The film won two Filmfare Awards South, two Nandi Awards and was also selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India, Goa. The film was dubbed and released in Tamil as ''Padhavi''. It was dubbed into hindi as "Asteen Ka Saanp". Katta remade ''Prasthanam'' in Hindi with the same title in 2019. Deva Katta is an Indian American film director and screenwriter who works in Telugu cinema. He directed cult classic Telugu movies such as '' Vennela'' (2005), '' Prasthanam'' (2010), '' Autonagar Surya'' (2014) and '' Republic (film)'' (2021). In 2010, '' Prasthanam'' was showcased in the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India. Jaya Prakash Reddy (8 May 1946 – 8 September 2020) was an Indian actor who predominantly appeared in Telugu films. Born in Sirvel of Andhra Pradesh, he came into the limelight with the film ''Samarasimha Reddy'' (1999) where he played the role of Veera Raghava Reddy.
