Roys Iron DNA
Roys Iron DNA are a Scottish indie electronic music band, based in the Scottish Borders, North Northumberland and Edinburgh. The band's name, Roys Iron DNA, is a tribute to lead songwriter Ian Thompson's grandfather, Roy S. Thompson, former Sheriff of Berwick upon Tweed. Career The band was formed by friends Ian S Thompson and Luke Mallet, and were originally known as Ordinaryson. They later changed their name to reflect the more electronic nature of the music. The ''NME'' has praised the band for blending "musical ideas from the 60s the punk era right through to contemporary electronica, trip hop at its darkest. This is a very interesting band". After years of extensive touring of the UK and self funded single and EP releases, they released their debut album ''Men In Wax Jackets'' in November 2007 on indie label, Alex Tronic Records. Beta Band
The Beta Band are a Scottish musical group formed in 1996. Their style is described as being a blend of folk, psychedelia, electronica, post-rock and trip hop, often involving stylistic experimentation and occasional humour. They were praised by members of both Radiohead and Oasis, the former of which chose them to open for their concerts in 2001. Lo Fidelity Allstars are an English electronic music group who have recorded since the late 1990s. Career Their members originate from various cities in Northern England. They were formed in Leeds before relocating first to London, where they came to the attention of major record labels. After signing to Skint Records the band relocated to Brighton on the south coast, where that label is based. Subsequent to parting company with Skint, the band liquidated their Brighton studio complex 'The Brainfarm', and the personnel are now based variously in Brighton, The Midlands and New York. The Go! Team are an English indie rock band from Brighton, England. The band initially began as a solo project conceived by Ian Parton; however, after the unexpected success of the Go!
