Ron Scherf
Ron Scherf ( he, רון שרף; born February 17, 1972) is an Israeli social and political activist, a former Lt. Colonel in the Sayeret Matkal unit of the IDF, and one of the founding members and leaders of the " Brothers in Arms" organization standing at the forefront of the protests against judicial reform of the thirty-seventh government of Israel. Biography Ron Scherf grew up in Kfar Saba and graduated from Katznelson high school in the city. As a child, he lived for three years in Kenya, where his father worked as an engineer. He served in the IDF as an officer in the Sayeret Matkal IDF unit. Scherf participated in the May 1994 abduction of Mustafa Dirani, and was the commander of the corresponding rescue force team of Nir Poraz in the Nachshon Wachsman rescue operation. He was released with the rank of lieutenant colonel and since then served as one of the training commanders of the unit. Latrun
Latrun ( he, לטרון, ''Latrun''; ar, اللطرون, ''al-Latrun'') is a strategic hilltop in the Latrun salient in the Ayalon Valley, and a depopulated Palestinian village. It overlooks the road between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, 25 kilometers west of Jerusalem and 14 kilometers southeast of Ramla. It was the site of fierce fighting during the 1948 war. During the 1948–1967 period, it was occupied by Jordan at the edge of a no man's land between the armistice lines. In the 1967 war, it was occupied by Israel. Tal Rousso (; born 1959) is a general of the Israel Defense Forces, serving in the reserves. He heads the IDF's Depth Corps. He also served as an MK for the Labor Party.
