Rola Khaled (born 1 January 1984) is a Lebanese female Muaythai practitioner. She also competed at the Asian Beach Games in 2014 and 2016, claiming silver medals each in the women's 60kg featherweight event and women's 63.5kg light welterweight event. Muay Thai ( th, มวยไทย, , ), sometimes referred to as Thai boxing, is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs", as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the late 20th to 21st century, when Westernised practitioners from Thailand began competing in kickboxing and mixed-rules matches as well as matches under muay Thai rules around the world. The Asian Beach Games, also known as ABG, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Games are described as the second or third largest Asian multi-sport event, after the Asian Games. Its popularity is increasing due to the low cost of temporary venues, with beaches and oceans already available, while spectators and tourists are also already available in sand and sea tourist areas. In its history, six countries have hosted the Asian Beach Games. Forty-five nations have participated in the Games. The most recent Games were held in Danang, Vietnam from 24 September to 3 October 2016, while the next games will be held in 2023 in Sanya, China; the 2023 Games will be the first to break away from the 2-year cycle. 2014 Asian Beach Games
The Fourth Asian Beach Games were held in Phuket City, Phuket Island, Phuket Province, Thailand. The games were originally scheduled for Boracay, Boracay Island, Aklan, Philippines, but was affected by the OCA's hosting changes. The games were held on the same year of the 2014 Asian Games, 17th Asian Games. It was the seventh time for Thailand to host an Asia level multi-sports event, after Bangkok held four Asian Games (1966 Asian Games, 1966, 1998 Asian Games, 1970, 1978 Asian Games, 1978 and 1998 Asian Games, 1998), one Asian Indoor Games (2005 Asian Indoor Games, 2005) and one Asian Martial Arts Games (2009 Asian Martial Arts Games, 2009). 2016 Asian Beach Games
The 5th Asian Beach Games ( vi, Đại hội Thể thao Bãi biển châu Á lần thứ năm) was held in Da Nang, Vietnam. It was the second time for Vietnam to host an Asian multi-sports event, after Hanoi held the 2009 Asian Indoor Games. This was only the first time that an event was not held in Hanoi. Logo The Games' logo is designed to simulate the waves and sand, as well as the healthy and active athletes participating in the Games. With the power of sports, all parts of the logo rise up to form a large V shape (which means "Vietnam", "Victory" or the fifth Roman numeral which is read as "V") which confirms the role of the host countries, highlighting the spirit of competition as well as the aspirations of the athletes to win. The Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (abbreviated as AIMAG) is a pancontinental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. It is organised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and consists of Indoor and martial arts events with TV broadcasting potential, some of which were not contested at the Asian Games and Asian Winter Games Programs and are not Olympic sports. The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games ( tk, Ýapyk binalarda we söweş sungaty boýunça V Aziýa oýunlary/Япык биналарда ве сөвеш сунгаты боюнча V Азия оюнлары), which is also counted as the 5th Asian Indoor Games, was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017. It became the third city in the former Soviet countries to win the right of hosting an Olympic Council of Asia-sanctioned event, following Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, which jointly-hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games.
