Rodney McAree
Rodney Joseph McAree (born 19 August 1974) is a Northern Irish former footballer and current manager of NIFL Premiership side Dungannon Swifts. Playing career McAree began his playing career as a trainee with Liverpool. He then spent a season with Bristol City, before joining Fulham, then in the Football League Third Division. McAree spent four largely uneventful seasons with Fulham, but scored a vital winning goal in the final minute against Carlisle United, which eventually led to Fulham's promotion. Despite only playing a handful of games, McAree became a cult hero, and his name is still occasionally sung by Fulham fans. He had a loan spell at Woking in 1998. He left Fulham and signed for Stevenage Borough in September 1998. He went on to have spells with Chesham United, Crawley Town and Worthing. Dungannon
Dungannon (, ) is a town in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is the second-largest town in the county (after Omagh) and had a population of 16,282 at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2021 Census. The Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council had its headquarters in the town, though since 2015 the area has been covered by Mid-Ulster District Council. For centuries, it was the 'capital' of the O'Neill dynasty of Tír Eoghain, who dominated most of Ulster and built a castle on the hill. The 1996–97 season was the 117th season of competitive football in England. Promotion to and relegation from the Football League returned after a three-season absence, with one relegation spot in Division Three. Overview Premier League Manchester United won their second consecutive title, despite a spell in the autumn where they lost three games and conceded 13 goals. They won the title by seven points, as Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool fell away in the closing weeks. Nevertheless, their tally of 75 points is the lowest ever recorded by a Premier League winner. Mick McDermott
Michael McDermott (born 1974) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of League of Ireland First Division club Cobh Ramblers. Early life Born in Belfast, McDermott attended Belfast Boys' Model School and played for Cliftonville and Distillery at youth levels. He won a soccer scholarship at the University of Rhode Island. He made three caps for Northern Ireland national under-18. Playing career He has played in USL Second Division. Warrenpoint () is a small port town and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It sits at the head of Carlingford Lough, south of Newry, and is separated from the Republic of Ireland by a narrow strait. Oran Kearney (born 29 July 1978) is a Northern Irish professional football manager and former player who was most recently the sporting director of NIFL Premiership side Coleraine. Playing career Kearney joined Ballymena United from Moyola Park in 2002, after father-in-law Kenny Shiels became manager of the club. In 2005, Kearney joined Linfield. On 30 April 2009, Kearney announced his retirement. Managerial career In May 2009, Kearney was appointed manager of Limavady United. He then became manager of Coleraine in February 2011. The 2017–18 Northern Ireland Football League Cup (known as the BetMcLean League Cup for sponsorship purposes) was the 32nd edition of Northern Ireland's football knockout cup competition for national league clubs, and the fourth edition of the competition as the Northern Ireland Football League Cup. This season's League Cup was contested by all 36 clubs of the three divisions of the Northern Ireland Football League. The competition began on 5 August 2017 with the first round, and concluded on 17 February 2018 with the final. The competition was sponsored for the first time by McLean Bookmakers.
