Robert McNeilly
Robert McNeilly was a long-serving Pittsburgh Police leader after joining the force in 1977, who served as Pittsburgh Police Chief from April 2, 1996 to January 2, 2006. He led the department through a U.S. Department of Justice consent decree in the mid-1990s. He was also active as a United States Coast Guard Reserves Chief Petty Officer from 1987 to 2011. McNeilly is also a United States Marine Corps veteran. Since retiring from the Pittsburgh Police he has served as chief in the suburban Elizabeth department, being sworn in on July 1, 2006. Before moving to Elizabeth a year later in 2007 he was a lifelong resident of the Brookline neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Police
The Pittsburgh Police (PBP), officially the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, is the largest law enforcement agency in Western Pennsylvania and the third largest in Pennsylvania. The modern force of salaried and professional officers was founded in 1857 but dates back to the night watchmen beginning in 1794, and the subsequent day patrols in the early 19th century, in the then borough of Pittsburgh. Dom Costa
Dominic J. Costa (born 1951) is a Democratic politician. He was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and was the Chief of the Pittsburgh Police in 2006, and was a 27-year veteran of the force. He is a member of the Costa political family in Pittsburgh. Career Law enforcement He began his police career in suburban East McKeesport in 1977 and in 1979 became an officer with Pittsburgh.
