Robert C. Green is an American medical geneticist, physician, and public health researcher. He directs the Genomes2People Research Program in translational genomics and health outcomes in the Division of Genetics at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Broad Institute, and is Director of the Preventive Genomics Clinic at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Research led by Green includes clinical and research aspects of genomic and precision medicine, including the development and disclosure of Alzheimer's disease risk estimates (the REVEAL Study) and one of the first prospective studies of direct-to-consumer genetic testing services (the PGen Study). He has studied the implementation of medical sequencing in healthy adults (the MedSeq Project), newborns (the BabySeq Project), and active duty military personnel (the MilSeq Project). Baseline Study
Project Baseline is a broad effort to map human health led by Verily Life Sciences (formerly Google Life Sciences), Alphabet, Inc.'s health sciences division, and was announced in the Wall Street Journal on July 24, 2014. It begins with the Project Baseline Study, which will collect phenotypic health data from approximately 10,000 participants over the course of at least four years. The project employs experts from widely varying fields including science, medicine, user experience and design, engineering and patient advocacy. The project is not the first one to aim to collect data on many individuals for medical purposes, but it aims to collect a much larger amount of data covering a broader array of topics than its predecessors. The All of Us Research Program (previously known as the Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program) is a precision medicine research program created in 2015 under the Obama Administration with $130 million in funding that aims to make advances in tailoring medical care to the individual's genetics. The mission of All of Us is to accelerate health and medical breakthroughs, enabling individualized prevention, treatment and care. The project aimed to collect genetic and health data from one million volunteers, and recruited around 297,549 participants. The project says its data is analyzed by 2,300 researchers.
