Riyadh Art
Riyadh Art is a public art project in Saudi Arabia. It is one of Riyadh’s four megaprojects launched by King Salman bin Abdulaziz in March 2019, and one of the largest public art projects in the world. It is overseen by the National Megaprojects Committee led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The project is one of the initiatives that contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Turning the Saudi Capital into an open-air art gallery, Riyadh Art will install more than 1,000 artworks and landmarks created by local and international artists across the city’s public spaces. Annual art events are bringing additional creative experiences to Riyadh. Riyadh
Riyadh is the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia. It is also the capital of the Riyadh Province and the centre of the Riyadh Governorate. Salam Park
Salam Park () is a 61-acre historic urban park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located southwest of Qasr al-Hukm District. Opened in 2004, it was built on the site of an eponymous date palm orchard that belonged to Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman. The park is popular for its 3.3 hectares large artificial lake and 1-kilometer long pedestrian track. It was jointly designed by Omrania and Associates and Aukett Fitzroy Robinson. The Salam Mosque, one of the oldest and earliest reinforced concrete mosques of Riyadh, is situated at the center of the park. Sports Boulevard () is an under-construction large-scale linear park located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project was launched by King Salman on March 19, 2019 as part of Saudi Vision 2030 and is one of the largest projects in the world. It is supervised and operated by the Sports Boulevard Foundation with its chairman Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Background The project was launched in 2019 as a part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The Sports Boulevard was one of four initiatives established in 2019 along with King Salman Park, Riyadh Art and Green Riyadh with an estimated cost of $23 billion in government funding. King Salman Park
King Salman Park (KSP; ), one of Riyadh’s mega-projects, is an urban area being developed in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia under the supervision of the King Salman Park Foundation. It was unveiled in 2019 as part of the Green Riyadh initiative aimed at increasing the green space of Riyadh. It is being built on the grounds of former Riyadh Air Base with an area totaling more than 16km2 (6 square miles). It is slated to be one of the largest urban parks in the world upon its opening. The park has lent its name after King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the ruler of Saudi Arabia since 2015. When completed, it will be one of the largest urban parks in the world, with an area 7 times greater than Hyde Park in London and 5 times Central Park in New York. The Green Riyadh project is a large landscape-improving project in the capital city of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. It is a project with an estimated budget US$32 Million. This project is part of four major projects to devolve the city ordered by the Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salaman bin Abdualazi. It is one of many under the Saudi Vision 2030. The goal is to develop the city and be one of the top 100 cities in the world. Vision The project would help to increase the green space per capita in the city by planting different plants across the city. The recycling water system is going to be used. The greening program would result in better air quality and decreased town temperatures. Tuwaiq
Jabal Tuwaiq (, Tuwaiq Mountain) is a narrow escarpment that cuts through the plateau of Najd in central Arabia, running approximately from the southern border of Al-Qasim in the north, to the northern edge of the Rub' al Khali desert near Wadi ad-Dawasir in the south. It is high and also has a Middle Jurassic stratigraphic section. The eastern side slopes downwards gradually, while the western side ends in an abrupt manner. The escarpment can be thought of as a narrow plateau, though the locals refer to it as a ''jebel'' ("mount"). Wadi Hanifa (), historically known as Wadi al-Arad, is a ''wadi'' (seasonal river) in the Najd region, Riyadh Province, in central Saudi Arabia. The valley runs for a length of from northwest to southeast, cutting through the city of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. A string of towns and villages lie along the valley, including Uyaynah, Irqah and Diriyah. Diriyah
Diriyah (; formerly romanization of Arabic, romanized as Dereyeh and Dariyya) is a towns in Saudi Arabia, town and governorate in Saudi Arabia. Located on the northwestern outskirts of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Diriyah was the original home of the House of Saud, and served as the capital of the First Saudi state, Emirate of Diriyah under the first Saudi dynasty from 1727 to 1818. Today, the town is the seat of the Diriyah Governorate, which also includes the villages of Uyayna, Jubail, Jubayla, and Al-Ammariyyah, among others—and is part of Riyadh Province.
