Ring Ring (ABBA Song)
"Ring Ring (Bara du slog en signal)", in English: ''"Ring Ring (If only you called)"'', titled simply as "Ring Ring" in the English single version, is a song by Swedish group ABBA, released as the title track of their 1973 debut album. The single gave the group their big break in several European countries (although the rest of Europe, North America and Australia would be introduced to ABBA the following year). The song was written in Swedish by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, along with their manager Stig Anderson, with the original title of "Ring Ring (Bara du slog en signal)" ("Ring Ring (If Only You Called)"). As in other languages, the English translation (helped by Neil Sedaka and his collaborator Phil Cody) showed notable changes in the original lyrics but with a similar meaning, including a new chorus: "Ring, ring, why don't you give me a call?". The Swedish version reached No. 1 in the Swedish charts. "Ring Ring" tells of a lover waiting alone by the telephone fo ...

Ring Ring (political Party)
The Ring Ring (, DD) is an association, set to become a political party in Italy. History On 7 July 2024, entrepreneur Alberto Forchielli, during a co-hosted YouTube livestream called ''Ring Ring'', discussed an article published in Il Sole 24 Ore reporting that between 2008 and 2022, 525,000 young Italians fled abroad in search of higher wages and better job opportunities. When economist Michele Boldrin remarked on the lack of reaction among youngsters, Forchielli argued that a new party inspired by the ideas of Act to Stop the Decline (the party Boldrin co-founded in 2012) could be successful and offer new hope to young people in Italy. Boldrin was skeptical but challenged their viewers to find 1,000 people willing to volunteer for a new party by sending them an email within 15 days. The goal was reached overnight and fifteen days later, during a livestream, they announced that 9,100 people had sent an email. As a result, they decided to launch an association, provisionally cal ...

Ring Ring, I've Got To Sing
"Ring, Ring I've Got to Sing" is a 1966 protest song composed and performed by Ferre Grignard. It became an international hit. The song criticizes racism and war through an African-American who doesn't want to fight for his country, because of the way black people are treated in the United States. History After an unsuccessful career as an artist, Ferre Grignard had learned to play the guitar and sing the blues. In 1964, De Muze opened in Antwerp. It was a bar often frequented by people with an alternative lifestyle. Ferre Grignard often performed there, and "Ring, Ring I've Got to Sing" was greatly appreciated. In 1965, the owner invited him to record the song. Not long thereafter Hans Kusters, a music producer who also owned a record company, heard the song and asked Ferre Grignard to record it once again. In 1966 this version, distributed on 500 copies, became a hit, and because of its mixture of skiffle, Folk music, folk and blues, Grignard's first album ''Ring, Ring I've Got ...
