Libby Riddles
Libby Riddles (born April 1, 1956) is an American dog musher, and the first woman to win the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Early life Riddles was born in Madison, Wisconsin, to Willard and Mary Riddles, and moved to Alaska (from Minnesota; she had been living in St. Joseph while attending Apollo High School in St. Cloud) just before her 17th birthday. She saw a sprint race and fell in love with mushing. Her first race was the Clines Mini Mart Sprint race in 1978, in which she won first place. Iditarod After finishing 18th and 20th in the 1980 and 1981 Iditarod races, she decided to breed her own sled dogs in order to advance. She moved to Shaktoolik, Alaska, and worked as a fish seller for a short period while training her dogs, then moved to Teller, Alaska Teller ( or ) is a city in the Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States. Nat Riddles
Nathan Riddles (February 4, 1952 – August 11, 1991) was an American blues harmonica player based in New York City. Biography Riddles played as an accompanist with Larry Johnson, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Bill Dicey. He appears on several albums with Johnson, and released a solo album on Spivey Records entitled ''The Artistry of Nat Riddles''. Riddles also gave lessons to fellow New York harmonica player Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam. Robert Riddles
Robert Arthur "Robin" Riddles, CBE, MIMechE, MinstLE (23 May 1892 – 18 June 1983) was a British locomotive design engineer. Biography LNWR and LMS Riddles was born in 1892 in East Preston in Worthing, Sussex. His father was a contractors' manager. He attended St Andrew's High School, Worthing. Riddles entered the Crewe Works of the London and North Western Railway as a premium apprentice in 1909, completing his apprenticeship in 1913. While attending the Mechanics Institute classes he took a course in electrical engineering, feeling there would be a future for electric traction. During the 1914–18 Great War he served with the Royal Engineers mainly in France, during which time he was badly wounded. He returned to the LNWR at Crewe and, in 1920, became the "bricks and mortar assistant", with responsibility for the new erecting shop.
